Woke up to find us sailing by the breakwater into Rotterdam. Rotterdam is the largest container port in the world, and it really is a sight. Ships of every kind. It was a 30 mile trip into Rotterdam. The last three miles into Rotterdam was a work of art by our captain. He had to turn our ship around, and sail it in backward. We are the largest cruise ship to ever visit Rotterdam, so it was really incredible to watch him pull it off. Since this was the first visit ...

... Austria, Prague and Germany. Then once in the Netherlands the route does another one-eighty and points me back to the east for Berlin and so on, until Finland where I'll turn back west all the way to Iceland. Iceland itself is corner number four and the last one, heading south to the UK and the end of the road. Having got increasingly tired recently, I was looking forward to the Netherlands as another crucial turning point, as well as the experience itself.

... the flowers as quickly as possible. It was an amazing place to visit and we were so glad that part of the warehouse is open to the public.

We headed out around 9:30 and drove north towards Alkmaar. We popped off the autoroute about 20 km south of the town so that we could take a more scenic route. The map showed tulip fields around the road so we thought we would try our luck. The tulips are all extremely late this year because it has been such a cold winter. ...

... over here) it is never good. After stealing Easter eggs from the reception area, we were off to see Rotterdam with Sam and Katherine. Our first stop was the EuroMast. The view from the top was incredible, showing all of Rotterdams bridges, ports and a miniature golf course...sold. Our next adventure...mini golf while drinking copious amounts of wine and beer. It was a lot of fun. ...

... rafting, micro-lighting (yes, another flight) during sunrise and of course a trip to Devil's Pool. On top of all this, we are also going on a 2-day safari in Chobe NP, Botswana.
