On my first day I was taken in a speedboat around the island to different points and given a bit of a tour, then the driver dropped me off on a remote beach with no-one else there and was only accessible by boat. I stayed in the main town due to its proximity for the pier, but given the frequent and loud call to prayer the beach on the other side of the island might have been a better idea. ... broken toe. I elect to swim back but poor Jon has the bag so has to struggle back the way we came. On the main road, there are monkeys hanging from trees and buildings, feeding on tourist food. They haven't fathomed out how to open plastic drink bottles so they bite a small hole in the bottom and gently tip it into their mouths.
