... too hot! Then we had a look at the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, a buddhist temple and also the Masjid Kampung Kling (Mosque). The Mosque looked beautiful though as it had incorporated the temple style pagodas in its minarets so it didn't look out of place. Even the normal central dome was a pagoda. Melaka was brilliant, rich in history with strong Portuguese and Dutch influences of which buildings remained after their invasions. When the British invaded the only remaining building is a church but when I saw it, either I had too many beers that day or something wasn't quite right with the structure as I was sure the whole thing was leaning over! Typical - we can' do anything right!

We also thought it would be rude not to stop and buy some local pineapple tarts, freshly baked and still warm. Surprisingly not too sweet either.
