Final Morning and Final Thoughts
... for the Eurostar, future visitors! The train is packed, so we spend the hour journey sitting on our suitcases by the doorway, and we disembark with our fellow Brit passengers at the correct station (much to our relief).Time for a final hot chocolate – alas, not a beer – at Brussels and it’s finally time to board the Eurostar back to London…

Day 3 – Anniversary walks, carriage rides an
Another 2:30am, 4:30am and 6:30am alarm call before the official getting up time of 8:30. Much the same as the morning before we have breakfast, watch a bit of children’s TV in German (we do have English channels but this is so much more educational…) and prepare for the day ahead. We had slightly encroached on today’s itinerary yesterday during our aimless rambling but we headed back out towards Djiver and Gruuthouse.

Après un petit déjeuner et nos adieux à Zarinka, notre hôte très sympatique, départ pour : Bruges, la «Venise du Nord» comme ils disent en Flandre.

In Bruges (Come on, I had to...)
... I managed to drive through 2 No Entry signs. The first time even another driver in a French car followed me before immediately doing a 3-point turn - even the French don't understand their own signs! Miserable signage. Their speed limits make me laugh too. What is the point of changing the limit on an exit from 90 to 70 to 50 at 5-yard intervals? So police can hand out more speeding tickets or so that they can give more work to ...
