... a spot on the sand away from the kiddies and mullets...pretty good time.

Had a dolphin swim within 15 feet of me, probably due to our perfected dolphin and mermaid calls (I had nothing on Brad and Katīs--but it worked).

We had no idea what we were getting into.

But this seems to be the only place on earth that serves Busch Beer in bottles--worth the price of admission.

... our girlfriend time with walks on the beach, minature golf and good seafood dinners. St. Andrews Bay was a favored area to go for a dinner on the water; great view and ocean breezes. ... had only brought my blender or food processor for making hummus ..... The water has receded quickly - one of the benefits of being on sand. We hope to be on the road early tomorrow. We are not sure how many stops will entice us as we leave Florida, cross Alabama and enter Louisiana. We also foresee some longer days of travel when we get to Texas so are doing some advance planning.

... before sunset--it had been raining but it only sprinkled a little while we walked.  The beach reminded me a little of The Outer Banks--houses only, no condos or high-rises.  The beach itself is quite beautiful--white sand.Dinner was at the Blue Parrot--a restaurant (maybe the only one open?) on St. George Island. We ate outside on the porch overlooking the ocean.  I had Fried Oysters, which were very good; Larry had grouper & scallops--skimpy portions.

Saturday, March 8th. We woke up this morning to a continuation of last nights rockin' and rollin' caused by the gusting 40 to 50 mph winds. Besides being rocked around, the sounds that the wind produced were similar to a movie soundtrack of a storm at sea. The Marriott Legends is on a golf course, NOT on the Gulf beach. From our condo to the fishing pier is a 10 minute walk. To the beach, a 10 minute drive. We've got the best of both worlds. ... it was on to the tiny town of Vernon, FL where our friend PJ has a house. PJ was supposed to be there at that time, but had a change of plans and couldn't leave Maui.
