... a spot on the sand away from the kiddies and mullets...pretty good time.
Had a dolphin swim within 15 feet of me, probably due to our perfected dolphin and mermaid calls (I had nothing on Brad and Katīs--but it worked).
We had no idea what we were getting into.
But this seems to be the only place on earth that serves Busch Beer in bottles--worth the price of admission.
... our girlfriend time with walks on the beach, minature golf and good seafood dinners. St. Andrews Bay was a favored area to go for a dinner on the water; great view and ocean breezes. Destin was advised as a place to see because it is a charming seaside community. I went on a Dolphin Cruise aboard the Hannah Marie. A lot of birds, gulls and pelicans, came for food but we saw only 4 dolphins diving through the waters; not a great ...
Panama City,, Florida, United States francie... had only brought my blender or food processor for making hummus ..... The water has receded quickly - one of the benefits of being on sand. We hope to be on the road early tomorrow. We are not sure how many stops will entice us as we leave Florida, cross Alabama and enter Louisiana. We also foresee some longer days of travel when we get to Texas so are doing some advance planning.
Panama City, Florida, United States momadunc... before sunset--it had been raining but it only sprinkled a little while we walked. The beach reminded me a little of The Outer Banks--houses only, no condos or high-rises. The beach itself is quite beautiful--white sand.Dinner was at the Blue Parrot--a restaurant (maybe the only one open?) on St. George Island. We ate outside on the porch overlooking the ocean. I had Fried Oysters, which were very good; Larry had grouper & scallops--skimpy portions.
St. George Island, Florida, United States bdodsonSaturday, March 8th. We woke up this morning to a continuation of last nights rockin' and rollin' caused by the gusting 40 to 50 mph winds. Besides being rocked around, the sounds that the wind produced were similar to a movie soundtrack of a storm at sea. The motion, the sounds of the surf crashing and the palm fronds smacking against our roof made for a somewhat sleepless night. A couple of tornadoes had passed through the panhandle and we were ...
Panama City, Florida, United States jodieandandyThe Marriott Legends is on a golf course, NOT on the Gulf beach. From our condo to the fishing pier is a 10 minute walk. To the beach, a 10 minute drive. We've got the best of both worlds. This morning, it's out to the real beach so mom can "walk the sands." The girls are beaching it while Skip and Gary are ...
Panama City, Florida, United States kupdegra... to fish. Lew gave me my first rod...a Wright & McGill. And he tried to teach me how to cast. At the age of 6 I was practicing in his yard. I think my brother Skip was hooked at birth. My younger brother Scott also became addicted. So addicted that he now lives on a trout stream, the Sinnemahoning Creek in Driftwood, PA. Skip taught ...
Panama City, Florida, United States kupdegra... storage, some that I had in the old RV, some new. We finally had most everything as we liked it, but there were still a couple of things Terry wanted checked out at the Tiffin service center in Red Bay, AL so when we finally left PJ's, we drove on up there in the NW corner of AL. While there, we also took the factory tour, which was very informative and made us happy that we had gotten a ...

We were enjoying our stay there with our friends and PJ's really good cooking, as well as, helping with the phones, so we stayed through Memorial Day. Even my little Lika got along fine with PJ's two big dogs. Speaking of Lika, I took her to local vet to get her annual shots and certificates (that we often had to show at some parks, plus we were planning to go into ...
Vernon, Florida, United States chictravelers2... it was on to the tiny town of Vernon, FL where our friend PJ has a house. PJ was supposed to be there at that time, but had a change of plans and couldn't leave Maui. Her friend, Vinny, also lives there and kept company with us. We were able to park in their big back "yard", next to their workshop garage and across from one of the two ponds on the property. Terry fished to his heart's content and caught a bunch of small stuff plus a couple of big ...
