Believe it or not, Singapore is not part of China! After more than a month, I have actually left China and its various territories and regions (but not for long - I will be back in a week or so). Singapore is an island country just south of Malaysia and north of Indonesia. It is less than 100 miles from the equator and has a tropical rainforest …

My husband and I spent two nights on a club package at this hotel in mid October. We had stayed before, but this was the first time since the spectacular renovations.
We had arranged by email for a Mercedes transfer from Changi, but unfortunately this did not turn up, so after telephoning the hotel, we simply caught a taxi. Upon checkout, we were offered a complimentary Mercedes transfer to make up for their failure to arrive, which we thought was fair compensation.
We were checked in in the Club Lounge on the top floor of the hotel where the Chinese restaurant used to be. This is now a spectacular circular club lounge, which outstanding views of the city and Marina Bay. We were offered drinks and snacks whilst checking in. We were then shown to our room. We had not chosen a club room, rather one of the renovated ex-balcony rooms, which had amazing views of Marina Bay. The room, and bathroom were beautifully presented, with everything appearing brand new. We had a bar with two stools, a Nespresso machine, a huge very comfortable bed and free internet which worked brilliantly.
We used the Club lounge constantly over our weekend. We had breakfast there both mornings, afternoon tea on one of our days, and early evening cocktails, wines and canapés both nights. Each visit to the lounge was very enjoyable and service was excellent. There was a range of seating, from private dining rooms, dining tables of various sizes, and lounge chairs in differing sized groups. You could choose a different view of Singapore on each visit. The range of wines available at cocktail hour was excellent as was the array of snacks. You could also have a Singapore Sling if desired, but one of those was enough for me! Very strong indeed. Breakfast each morning was a pleasure, as the lounge was fairly empty, so again you could choose your view and watch Singapore wake up. Hot food, such as bacon and eggs, was cooked to order and there was a large range of continental and asian foods available at the buffet.
As well as our use of the club lounge, we also had drinks in one of the new pods in the lobby which was very pleasant. We had a lot of use of the pool during the afternoons and also had a late dinner at the Poolside, the outdoor restaurant by the pool. We only had burgers and a glass of red wine, but it was very pleasant. We hosted a friend for lunch in Edge on one of the days. The food was excellent with a huge choice of food from around the world.
Pan Pacific is an excellent hotel and we will definitely stay there again. The staff are extremely helpful, particularly Jennifer Wong, the Operations Manager. All of our email contact prior to our stay was with her, and her helpfulness and level of service cannot be faulted. She frequently checked with us during our stay that everything was to our liking. With people like Jennifer on staff, this hotel is guaranteed continued success.

Good business hotel
I stayed here on & off for three weeks in September 04 on business. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms are a good size and furnished to a good standard. The staff were always very helpful.
I really liked the lobby bar - it was always lively and buzzing. I didn't rate the hotel restaurants very much, and the room service is nothing exciting... but there are loads of restaurants in the area, so this shouldn't be a problem.
COZY CORNER
This is my second time to stay in Pan Pacific although I have been to Singapore for several times, but I think that I will continue staying there whenever I visit Singapore.
It is simply nice to stay at Pan Pacific for its COZY environment, facilities provided by the hotel, the staff are kind & polite, the eazy access to MRT station, the wide range of restaurants surrounding the hotel and the variety of the shopping Malls that is in within reach.
I highly recommend the Pan Pacific Hotel
Great Stopover Break
Stayed 3 nts in January 05 on the way back home from Australia.
We chose to upgrade to a room on the 31st floor (at neglible cost) and found the room to be excellent with a huge comfortable bed.
The hotel spa is stillundergoing refurbishment but the pool and gym are now completed - we did not have time to use them but thy looked very well equipped.
The atrium is stunning as are the glass lifts (a bit of a shock if you were not aware beforehand!)
Overall, great location at Marina Square (only 5-10 mins to city Hall MRT - depending on how distracted you get window shopping!)
Will definately stay again - highly reccommended.
Great service
This hotel is currently under renovation though the hotel rooms and service were great. The gm is adequate and the pool you use next door at them marina hotel was very good.
Not the best
Borderline worth staying here. On the plus side there is a lovely Pacific Club floor with excellent service. On the down side the pool, lobby, gym and other facilities were not available due to renovation. Lots of noise and little concern. Overall, I would not stay there again. Instead try the Swissotel or the Conrad International.
Mediocre
Having recently stayed at the Regent Hotel in Singapore for the same room price - all I can say is that the Pan Pacific is better located if wanting to be spending time downtown. Service and room were mediocre and construction is ongoing throughout the hotel. The pool is under renovations and you have to go to the next door hotel to access one. Sorry - think my standards for Singapore hotels was set by the Regent - although this isnt a bad hotel you can do better for the same money by going elsewhere.
Best hotel ever in Singapore!
Just great! The hotel and the neighbouring Marina Square mall are now under big renovation, so the circumstances are not good. However, their enthusiasm to serve their guests were great, and I felt so comfortable that I can strongly recommend this hotel to anyone even who tend to have cynical opinions to hotel business.
Just an example of their professionalism. When I asked an electricity adaptor for my laptop, the house keeper came in in a few minutes, and checked not only the connectivity itself but also the voltage capacity of the laptop. Which hotel could be concerned of their guest's possible trouble so well??
I certainly love this professionalism as a service provider.
I've found a stunning contrast with the neibouring Ritz Carlton (though I have stayed at several top-class hotels in Singapore). In spite of their good looking of inside and outside of the building, this RC's guest services were much poorer than the Pan Pacific . It seems that RC's services are for the hotel temselves, and PP's services are truly for the guest. RC staff were just milling around the entrance only to greet coming-in guests, while PP staff are practically running around for their guests.
I hope they can keep going with the current great hospitability.
The best yet
we arrived very early in the morning and were able to check right in without delay...staff was very pleasant and accommodating...realizing we had just traveled 16hrs straight from usa...enjoyed the proximity to everything...from sightseeing, restaurants and shopping...even walking through gorgeous lobby and atrium...made our stay so enjoyable...we had stayed two years ago in a lovely hotel but this one topped that ....
Defintely recommended
What a nice hotel! Good staff, good food, great huge rooms and equally huge bathrooms with an amazing view, close to some nice shopping malls and a great view of esplandale and harbour. I would defintely recomend this hotel to anybody staying in singapore. If you like Indian food, be sure to check out the Rang Mahal restaraunt.
Fantastic Hotel
The Pan Pacific is a beautiful hotel. Our room was beautiful and clean, with fantastic views over the city and down to the pool. The pool was beautiful, especially around dusk and never crowded. You could also listen to some music underneath the water. The lobby atrium was really nice. When you stepped outside your room, you could see right down to the bar.
After a hard days sightseeing in extremely hot and humid weather it was a delight to walk back into the pan pacific.
