Three point, buzzer beating for a Conference final kind of stuff. Couldn't really ask for too much more from a five-star palace. Hard in the all the right ways kind of mattress, wall of glass shower, breakfast selection more diverse than a coral eco-system. If you've got the time, the inclination and don't mind credit card interest...stay here!

Second Stay - Even Better Than the First

My husband and I spent two nights on a club package at this hotel in mid October. We had stayed before, but this was the first time since the spectacular renovations.

We had arranged by email for a Mercedes transfer from Changi, but unfortunately this did not turn up, so after telephoning the hotel, we simply caught a taxi. Upon checkout, we were offered a complimentary Mercedes transfer to make up for their failure to arrive, which we thought was fair compensation.

We were checked in in the Club Lounge on the top floor of the hotel where the Chinese restaurant used to be. This is now a spectacular circular club lounge, which outstanding views of the city and Marina Bay. We were offered drinks and snacks whilst checking in. We were then shown to our room. We had not chosen a club room, rather one of the renovated ex-balcony rooms, which had amazing views of Marina Bay. The room, and bathroom were beautifully presented, with everything appearing brand new. We had a bar with two stools, a Nespresso machine, a huge very comfortable bed and free internet which worked brilliantly.

We used the Club lounge constantly over our weekend. We had breakfast there both mornings, afternoon tea on one of our days, and early evening cocktails, wines and canapés both nights. Each visit to the lounge was very enjoyable and service was excellent. There was a range of seating, from private dining rooms, dining tables of various sizes, and lounge chairs in differing sized groups. You could choose a different view of Singapore on each visit. The range of wines available at cocktail hour was excellent as was the array of snacks. You could also have a Singapore Sling if desired, but one of those was enough for me! Very strong indeed. Breakfast each morning was a pleasure, as the lounge was fairly empty, so again you could choose your view and watch Singapore wake up. Hot food, such as bacon and eggs, was cooked to order and there was a large range of continental and asian foods available at the buffet.

As well as our use of the club lounge, we also had drinks in one of the new pods in the lobby which was very pleasant. We had a lot of use of the pool during the afternoons and also had a late dinner at the Poolside, the outdoor restaurant by the pool. We only had burgers and a glass of red wine, but it was very pleasant. We hosted a friend for lunch in Edge on one of the days. The food was excellent with a huge choice of food from around the world.

Pan Pacific is an excellent hotel and we will definitely stay there again. The staff are extremely helpful, particularly Jennifer Wong, the Operations Manager. All of our email contact prior to our stay was with her, and her helpfulness and level of service cannot be faulted. She frequently checked with us during our stay that everything was to our liking. With people like Jennifer on staff, this hotel is guaranteed continued success.

Singapore is a city of wonders, and we did our best to see it all!

After yesterday's late night, we allowed ourselves a lie in, but as always with things to do it couldn't last long. By 10:30am we were out in search of breakfast in the mall over the road, very quickly finding a diner. Katie's pancakes were delicious, of course, but Matt …

On our third visit to Singapore in the trip, we finally got the chance to leave the airport and explore!

With our flight from Denpasar airport (which isn't actually in Denpasar by the way) at 10:30am, we got up at 7:30am with just enough time to finish packing before our transfer at 8:00am. We were driven a few minutes down the road to the …

Well we endured a turbulent flight over to Singapore with interrupted and very little sleep as just when reaching that blissful point of drifting into oblivion, the roller coaster would start up again. Lasted pretty much the entire flight across Australia and finally settled down once over the Timor Sea.

          Sweaty Singapore

... Saturday. Went to Sentosa (Amusement Park island), and made it to China Town for lunch and sightseeing. Bucketing down with rain, something a little rare to us. Footprints hostel, not too bad but dont suggest the room with the urinal behind the wall as it was pretty loud EVERY TIME IT FLUSHED. On our way to the airport soon to head to Tokyo, will blog again then. Kirst and Drew xxxxxxxx

We drove out nearby to Achorpoint and had our dinner at the foodcourt, shopped awhile and went back to the park to bring our kids for a night's adventure! We strolled the park near the seaside and it was very nice! Around 10pm, we let the kids bathed and changed into their PJ then we gathered at the resort's ...
