Kassiopi is 30kms north from Corfu town (50kms total from Agios Ioannis Peristeron) with the last 20kms full of twists, turns, climbs, narrow passes, and several gear changes in our little BMW rental. Driving on the right hand side in a left handed drive over these roads never felt so exhilarating! The surprise twist was when we arrived in Kassiopi and had to scour the streets to find our apartment (the only address for the apartment was ...

We are given a bit of a history lesson from our guide. Albania became a republic in 1993 and has been developing since then from what was once of the poorest countries in Europe. The drive through the countryside is pleasant, as we make our way to the ancient town of Butrint.
We take a ...

... daiquiris where we got a taste of the famous 'free pouring' we've been hearing about! Refreshing! Scott and I went for a walk to look at an old bombed out house. There was a family living in at the time and the Germans decided to use the house as target practice. Sad story but it was very pretty to see. It's seemed weird for me looking at something that actually happened rather than hearing stories. For the first time in my life I'm wishing I took history at ...
