... Mike taught me, but it was too glaring to look at the LCD for live view, so I went back to my compensation metering and trial & error.

Picked up some frozen dinners at the grocery store and ate them at the motel room. I would be quite depressed if I live in this town day in and day out ....

We don't plan to do sunrise shooting tomorrow. I need some sleep - got a total of no more than 8 hours for the last 2 days. Don't want to get sick.

... if we could help but by the time we got there, flames were already coming out from the bonnet of her van. We didn’t have a fire extinguisher so the best we could do was give her and her son shelter in our car while we waited for the fire department. In a matter of minutes the whole van was consumed by the fire and was a total wreck. The mum was in shock, the boy was crying and eventually the fire department turned up. ... waiting for a train to pass under us. It was terrifyingly cool waiting under the stars and not really knowing what to expect, but again it did not disappoint.
