... not bother to take any photos, and took a few naps in the car.

We drove through the Turnbull NWR - did not have the energy to walk the trails. It's the middle of the day and we did not see any wildlife. Probably everyone was sleeping. We then drove east on Cheney Plaza road which joins Rt 195 S. Our goal was to find the Chestnut hill outside of Palouse then head to the top of Steptoe Butte for sunset. ... if we could help but by the time we got there, flames were already coming out from the bonnet of her van. We didn’t have a fire extinguisher so the best we could do was give her and her son shelter in our car while we waited for the fire department. In a matter of minutes the whole van was consumed by the fire and was a total wreck. The mum was in shock, the boy was crying and eventually the fire department turned up. ... people at Walmart were real! We were not disappointed. I took a gamble and told Scott to point the RV off course slightly to take in Palouse Falls - the last remaining flowing falls of Ice Age Floods. A seriously cool drive with beautiful wild purple flowers all the way and plenty of horses and wheat fields.
