... and "rockfall mitigation" -- cleaning up after a super-sized slide over the winter. We arrive at the closure point about 6:45 pm, and the closed section of road is now open, one lane at a time -- when the signal on your direction turns green. We wait on the red light a few minutes. Then it turns green, and we ride the last few miles into Ouray as the sun sets over the mountains. Tomorrow we'll head south out of Ouray on the Million ...

... all our UK readers) to be here and we were now simply sitting on bikes riding the US 64 looking at stunning scenery. We are adventures, trail blazers and pioneers.

Day 77, 15/3, ski day 54, skied traverse between chute 8 and 9, very hard, last night, went to Brewhouse, disaster when got home as ice has smashed the kitchen window

Day 78, 16/3, heading for home, bus to Montrose. Note do not fly out of Montrose on a Saturday, flight to Dalles, dinner with Stave & Rachel, then onto a plane to Brisbane. Got to off Mexico then diverted to LA, spent night in LA, then onto another plane and heading home.

... until there was no shade at all. The path got even rockier and I had to concentrate on exactly where I was putting my feet. Everything in my body was totally on-fire and I felt muscles in my thighs that I don't think have been put to much use in years. Even my stomach muscles were exhausted and screaming in agony from the constant heavy breathing and my heart rate was so fast it reminded me of when I used to take kickboxing.
