Following the Animas to Silverton, we set our sights on the peaks surrounding Ouray. The Tacoma took us back through the valley and we stopped shortly at Idarado to explore the much younger ghosthouses. The pastels and funky turquoise shutters definitely screamed the 70's.

... feet. When we turned onto Last Dollar Road the elevation was a little over 8000 feet. When got to the top of Hastings Mesa we were at 10,800 feet. ... go damn it! :) Usually this time of may, there is no way you can do any hiking around here. Due to some warm temps and some lower snow amounts this year, I have really lucked out. anyway....
