... the guides could herd our large group (10 per raft and about 6-8 rafts) through a photo opportunity in front of a waterfall. They would then charge ridiculous amounts for people to buy photos at the end. We didn't participate. It was also a shame our waterproof camera broke as we have no photos from the actual rafting. When we arrived it was 8.30 pm and we were picked up by a nice man who took us to the room we are renting. It was time for a walk...too much sitting had been done. We decided to walk to the beach and explore.
What a circus!!! It was like a New Year's Eve party in a major Thailand tourist hot spot. Lights beaming colours into to sky, neon signs flashing everywhere you look, tourists walking round dressed like drug overdosed ...

... statues unearthed tomorrow at the Antalya Museum. Next we were off to Aspendos, 48kms east. We were unable to see the Aspendos Theatre as it has been closed for renovations, but we did see the reconstructed bridge and the aquaduct. In the 1930's Atatürk, after tourıng the area, declared that theatre was too beautiful not to use and had renovations done and it now is the home of live performances. Breakfast was a rather hurried affair, as we had a slow start and had to be back in the bus by ten. Oats, yoghurt and a few apricots were perfect. A certain lack of spoons meant I am now practised at eating yoghurt with a fork.

Our room is on the fourth floor, so I am grateful there is a lift. I now know I need to get in the D block lift, and ...
