    Xel'ha

A travel blog entry by gannor on Dec 04, 2013

Today we went to Xel'ha. It is basically a resort without the rooms, and a huge activity area, with snorkelling, cliff jumping, tubing down a river, biking, zip lines etc. All of this happens in a natural cove. There are a million things you can do at this place. You can also upgrade and swim with dolphins, manatees, stingrays, underwater floor walks, Zip line bike through the trees and into caves, etc. No end in sight for what you can do. Eric was not feeling well, ...

Feeling a little unsure about the safety of our stuff we quickly headed in. I immediately came across empty boxes sitting near the check outs. We went in and ...

Mexico had finally come into its own and it was hot!

A short bus ride and we were in Playa del Carmen and a minibus later we went to Tulum Mayan ruins which were really interesting, but hot! Had I mentioned that!!!

A long hot minibus later I was back at the hotel in the coldest pool imaginable!!

After dinner we went to a bar that had swings around the bar instead of seats and the biggest mango daiquiri ...

... floor and ceiling become stippled in pattern and suddenly there’s an oily shimmer in the water turning any shapes into oily shadows. Its a bit disorientating but I found if I looked to the left or right a bit I could kind of side-step it. We kick through the tunnel, careful not to stir up sediment and it suddenly opens up into a broad cavern. We’re surrounded by natural rock formations on all sides but if we look to the top we can see a small opening where the ...
