      ... The Maroons are the descendants of African slaves who escaped to the hills when the British arrived and defeated the Spanish in the late 1600’s. After many years of unrest and a couple of wars and a few treaties, the Maroons have managed to maintain tax free status.       Friday 13th February, Montego Bay.

      A huge cruise boat had arrived during the night and moored quite close to us. Wendy went for an early morning paddle to check it out and also to have a look around the bay.
