    Farewell Faithful Friend - Kerenne is Sold!

    From Port Atheni we spent a few nights in several familiar places and one or two new ones. Kerenne was lifted out on 26th June and we spent the next 3 days preparing to travel home via Corfu. This period was one of nostalgia as we remembered all of the places Kerenne had taken us over the last eleven and a half years.



    Since buying Kerenne at the end of 2003 we have enjoyed many adventures, and some not ...

    From Vathi we went around the south of Ithika and crossed to Eufemia on Kefalonia. While anchored in the harbour the swallows regularly perched on the guardrails, and even ventured virtually into the cockpit. ...

    ... prepared to tie up the wind came up once more with a Force 4 lowing straight across the quay. After a minor mishap we eventually got tied up stern to and settled down to enjoy a few nights in this delightful working town. The local workforce had other ideas however and were using a very noisy machine to cut a trench along the road and everyone left the harbour next day to escape the noise.

    We left Aigeira with it's sports center and large houses and drove through what turned out to be a small town spread out along one Main Street, as usual this was double parked making it difficult to negotiate. We were soon back on the main road and making good speed. At the sides of the road the local fruit sellers have strawberries on their stalls, they must have been grown in the greenhouses.
