Beautiful place - worth a trip in itself

Every once in a while, if you are lucky, you stumble upon a hotel that is worth a trip in itself. Rendezvous is one of those gems. As you enter through the doors from the parking in front of the B&B, you get this soothing feeling of a place made for relaxation. The check-in process is far from your regular hotel experience - here they will sit down with you and go through the reservation, tell you about the area and give you some tips on what you can do. The place also has a bunch of books, magazines, games and videos you can borrow. The rooms have their individual theme - we stayed in Route 66 since we were on a roadtrip :-). The room was good sized with separate WC and bathroom, and the bed was soooo comfortable. The Rendezvous team serves up cocktails between 5 and 6, which is a brilliant way to relax after a day of exploring the area. The breakfast deserves a separate and massive cudos - so tasty and fresh; a smoothie, fruit salad and a hot main. Brilliant start to the day.

We loved staying here, and hated leaving. Next time we'll stay longer for sure. (Sidenote; our stay was just before the property was sold to new owners. Hopefully they will continue in the same spirit)

We left sleepy Julian after an unusual home cooked breakfast just as the town was waking again to the sound of bikes arriving. We headed out on 78 & 79 past Lake Henshaw, not really a lake now due to the drought. The drive was cool & the roads again turning & changing the view on each corner. We stopped on the 371 which was the only …

... cooler lid was no use though. We stayed for quite a long time and it was surprising how hot the sand was on the walk was back to the car, there were lots of animal prints in the sand too and some worrying squiggles that looked like snake tracks - we all had been listening out for any rattles. The ride to Amboy was downhill for around 10 miles, Peter loved that he put the car in neutral and it was reaching 60mph. Suddenly a police ...

The Riverside County Fairgrounds is located in Indio as well which comes around in February. The Valley is known for the dates found on the palm trees. My dad picked them as a kid out on our old ranch. We are also known for our colorful sunsets and nature found in the desert. The first thing you should go to if you visit our lively desert is the ...

... heading out for ice cream with Mike. In the evening we chilled out and watched the movie The Switch.
The next day I went for another early morning run and then cooled off in the pool. In the evening we headed down to the field as Mike had to coach his U19 girls. Kaylen then had to pop off with her mum to there school for an open house thing, I joined them and chilled out there for a bit. We then went straight to this place called Chicago pizza for guess what a ...
