Beautiful place - worth a trip in itself

Every once in a while, if you are lucky, you stumble upon a hotel that is worth a trip in itself. Rendezvous is one of those gems. As you enter through the doors from the parking in front of the B&B, you get this soothing feeling of a place made for relaxation. The check-in process is far from your regular hotel experience - here they will sit down with you and go through the reservation, tell you about the area and give you some tips on what you can do. The place also has a bunch of books, magazines, games and videos you can borrow. The rooms have their individual theme - we stayed in Route 66 since we were on a roadtrip :-). The room was good sized with separate WC and bathroom, and the bed was soooo comfortable. The Rendezvous team serves up cocktails between 5 and 6, which is a brilliant way to relax after a day of exploring the area. The breakfast deserves a separate and massive cudos - so tasty and fresh; a smoothie, fruit salad and a hot main. Brilliant start to the day.

We loved staying here, and hated leaving. Next time we'll stay longer for sure. (Sidenote; our stay was just before the property was sold to new owners. Hopefully they will continue in the same spirit)

    Good morning Palm Springs!

We can tell we're out in the desert as we walk out into the pool area of the hotel for breakfast. 8.30AM and it's already almost 30 degrees. It seems like we managed to pick a great day to go to Joshua Tree. After a stellar 3 course breakfast we get on the road for the 1 hr drive to Joshua Tree National Park. The …

Today is primarily a travelling day, and after a nice and slow start we start making our way towards Palm Springs. The drive is mainly freeways as we haven't planned any sightseeing along the route. It's a couple of hours drive from Burbank to Palm Springs and thanks to our slow start and a quick Starbucks breakfast we manage to avoid all of the …

From Pinnacles, I drove south to L.A. along US101/US1. A lot of nice ocean views, but I didn't stop to dip my toes. At L.A. I creeped straight across the city on the parking lot known as interstate 10. A couple of hours of good, clean fun. Eventually I reached my last Nat. Park in the state, Joshua Tree N.P.. The park includes parts of two different deserts. I started in the east which is the ...

... We stayed in the swimming pool for at least two hours, for a relaxing moment after a lot of travelling through deserts. Now that we've got more familiar with the Yelp iphone application, we are able to find good and chip restaurants in every place we visit, as the feedbacks are always very honest. We found an extremely good Mexican place, where we had dinner at 6pm to have at least two hours still in front of us to walk and visit the beautiful town of Palm ...

... a huge, huge wind farm in Palm Springs. We drove for miles before we ran out of wind mills to see.

Then we drove on to Beaumont CA where we thought we were going to stay in a county park but found out that they only allow camping on the week-ends. But there was a Walmart in town so we spent the night ...
