... left that island we went to another snorkeling location, but sadly it was cut short because the winds were picking up. In order to get everybody back into the boat, Yaya (one of our tour guides) decided to yell "Shark!" and see what o man did that work! Haha Everyone swim as fast as they could and got back into the boat quicker than ever. Everyone was only sliiiiightly traumatized! We got to watch the sunset from the next island ...

... We swam and sunbathed for hours until it was time to head back to mainland Phuket.

  • We got to spend some really good time with our friend Simon the Kiwi. He recently purchased a brand new show suite not too far from where Alyssa lives, so we spent some time with him at his condo, and enjoyed some great conversation and the beautiful pool in his complex.

    Anyways, so.....
    We spent a nice couple days in Railay, and the only saving grace was that the beach at Pranang was nice and there was cheap food from boats sold on the beach, and also that we had a "decent" hotel. And I really got into the Mindy book. LOL

    We stayed in a quirky cabin style room at a best western (lol) called anyavardee or something like that. It was acceptable but at $90 a night, which is wayyyyy more than any place we have ...

    ... stayed at the Railay Beach Club, a private enclave of houses right on the beach. We rented a small house with mosquito net and fans but no a/c. The house and the grounds were well kept up.

    So overall it was a very pretty scenery but turn away from the beach and it was so dirty, with bad food and indifferent service people. ...
