... special long tail boat ride to catch up with the big boat which had left the pier an hour ago! 'Just 10 minutes and you'll be picked up'. Nothing. In the end we cancelled and had a more relaxing day than a what looked increasingly like becoming a hairy boat chase James Bond style. ... we were put to sleep by the rocking back and forth movement of the boat and we actually slept much better than expected.
Arrived to the pier around 4 o’clock, a half an hour earlier than expected with about 3 hours to waste until our bus departed.

... Phi Phi. I just used it for a stopover to prevent having a 20 hour direct journey to Bangkok, another place also crossed of the list. I decided to head to the beach town of Patong (on island of Phuket) for a day of rest and relaxation. Once there it was clear I'd chosen the wrong place to go, it was basically Thailand's Kuta beach.
