... brilliant blue peacock costumes wound their way through the streets. Going for an early morning walk I came across a wedding having photos done, the traditional wedding attire of the official party was just astounding, the groom in his maroon beaded jacket, the bride in beautiful beaded sari, both dripping with golden bling. A very handsome sight! Early start for a wedding I thought.

Yet another local bus further south to the beach area ...

... bad but I was nodding like **** due to the Valium and nearly smashed my head on the metal on the back of the seats more times than I care to remember. I also fell asleep on the chest of the bloke next to me, much to Lizas chagrin, but considering that's happened four times the other way around I wasn't too embarrassed myself about this. Plus he got his own back by doing the same when I forced myself awake. Swings and roundabouts. Or something.

... we were given a spotter who is someone from the government that has to be present and also points out the animals that the untrained eye wouldn't spot. We were charged 5900 rupees for Steve and I (25 for both) and Dinindu and Isuri were charged 120 rupees (60 pence for the both). You do the math!!! The locals get charged so much less it's amusing.

Within seconds of entering the park we saw our first elephant. It was just 10 yards from ...

... tough! The beaches are covered in shells and I found a Cowrie Shell, which I have always liked. After 20 minutes I had over 30 so gave up picking them up as they were everywhere.
