    ... hill (where I forget to look at the queens summer house) and buy a data sim for the ipad in the hope that I'll have access as not much else works!!! We bus it back to pick up the car and head for St Andrews. What a great town this is, could spend days here. We grab some lunch a quick tour then head out to the golf course.     ... the nearby whisky region of Speyside is home to a hotel bar stocked with over 1,000 whiskies (overnight stay recommended!).

    Also in the town of Oldmeldrum is the stunning Meldrum House, where we stopped for lunch. The friendly team were clearly elated after just winning AA Hotel of the Year in Scotland and it’s very well deserved. The manor was built in 1236 and is furnished in a warm country house style – complete with a Whisky Cave. ...

    ... a carving of the Scottish royal coat of arms. This symbolised the power of the laird to administer justice on the king's behalf.
