The Heritage Village is free and none of the participants are expecting any kind of payment for demonstrating their craft or ancient traditions. This evening was, for us, very entertaining although I doubt not in the spirit it was meant!!

Tomorrow we board the MSC Lirica for the start of our 18 night odyssey. We haven’t even set foot on the ship yet and it feels like we have been away from home for ...

... to get our money's worth.
It was a good plan as the crowd didn't start building until about midday, so there were no queues. The boys very quickly went on all the rides and Don and I went on them all too except the one with the vertical drop. We got thrown around, tossed, turned, and then Don and I went on a very sedate ride around the 'river' that went around the ...

We had a camel ride! Very brave I was. You really have to lean back when the camel goes from the ground to standing, and vice versa. For a ...

... what the next 6 weeks will bring and that is both tremendously exciting and rather unnerving at the same time. The rough plan is to start in Ho Chi Min, meet up with two of my lovely friends and travel with them for a few days up to Nga Trang on the coast, celebrate my birthday, then carry on up to Hanoi, stopping off in various places on the way, before returning to Ho Chi Min for my flight home on the 5th October. Historical Traveler Reviews Palm Tree Court Dubai

Excellent hotel but the Jasmine club is overpriced.

overall excellent hotel . Very good restaurant choices and the golf club within walking distance. We booked in the Jasmine club but that was not worth the rather big price difference with a sea front junior suite.

Really Enjoyed the Palm Tree Court!

We were looking for somewhere relaxing for a week and the Palm Tree Court was ideal. My husband & I had the best week doing nothing but lazing around. The gardens, ponds, streams were all beautiful, so many different types of birds (including the resident peacocks!!). The food in all the restuarants was superb, especially the desserts. The staff were so friendly, especially Ana Karina Roldan in the Japanese restuarant and Doulan Salim El Chami (the Lebanese Chef) he was such a lovely man! Our room was lovely and all the little extra touches, like the bottle of wine, sweets & fruit on arrival was great.

We have been in Dubai before so we didn't need to go out & about but the courtesy bus is available to take you to various places.

    Would definetly go back!!!!

    Relaxing & Luxurious

Have just returned from a very relaxing stay at the palm tree court & spa. We chose this hotel because it's far away from the building works at the jumeirah beach area and we read good reviews on trip adviser. It's a long way out of dubai & probably best suited to those just wishing to relax with a few easy side trips such as the Malls or Wild Wadi. Would love to have visited the souks but it felt too far & too hot to do so.

    Would not go back!

This was my third time in Dubai and on each previous occassion I had stayed in the Jasmine's Suite in the Palm Tree Court. However on this occassion we also stayed in the One and Only Royal Mirage and the Manidat Jumeriah which were both surperb and to which I would return time and time again. However I cannot say the same for the Jebel Ali it was most disappointing with the food not to a very high standard in comparsion to the above hotels. The room was not in the Jasmine Suites and therefore although in the Palm Tree Court I would consider most basic. The Jebel Ali is very much out on its own between Dubai City and Abu Dubi and therefore needs to step up a gear with regard to the accommodation. The Palm Tree court is sold as a 5 star hotel I would only rate if a 4. With all the new hotels in Dubai and the competation between them I thinkg you would get a better standard of hotel and service for the price they charge.

    The best Holiday ever

My husband ,2 daughters (19 and 16 years and extremely hard to please) and I, have just returned from the most fantastic holiday we have ever had!!! When booking we decided to upgrade to the palm tree from the Jebel Ali and we were not dissappointed. We had travelled overnight and arrived at 9am in the morning. Our rooms were not supposed to ready untill 2pm that day but were ready and waiting for us. The reception staff greeted us and immediately got us refreshments we were then transported by golf buggy to our rooms. The rooms were huge with biggest bed that I have ever seen. They have Elmis products in the bathroom snacks and a great mini bar all of which are replenished every day without fail. The staff are second to none and cannot do enough for you. Once you have been there a few days the majority of them even remember your name. The restaurants were all superb and the service excellent. The French restaurnt was a little pricey and A La Carte (so fairly small portions) however, it was delicious. The beach is clean at all times and getting a bed and parasol is never a problem, with a beach attendant on hand to set it up for you. There is a young man who rides around on a beach buggy for most of the day serving you with any drinks that you want. He was a phillipino who has the cutest voice and smile in the complex!!! The pools are also excellent with a well manned swim up bar available at 2 of them. Make sure you make use of the golf buggys, which take you anywhere withing the complex... very useful if you don't fancy walking! and can be called from your room.

Keiner hat die Golf Carts erwähnt...

from denen man ÜBERALL hinfahren kann!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Nobody mentioned the golf carts......

.......which take you EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't beleive after reading through loads of reviews before we went that no one mentioned the golf buggies. They literally take you everywhere and cost nothing !
