... taxi required...) and off we go. Got to the apartment without any issues and at 4 AM I was able to turn off the light, just after I had taken a last look at that crazy indoor ski slope in from of my window. The desert embracing the crystals. And, if you have forgotten your snowboard, the Emirates Mall is open till 12 PM.

...they make you go through security, then to the gate, as normal....and then through security( a line of tables manned by quite grumpy looking security guards) AGAIN!!! I therefore lost the bottle of water that I had just moments before taken the time to fill up at a nearby water fountain. I have to admit that this almost definitely annoyed me much more than is reasonable, but I am in fact very nervous of ...

Day 42 - the final day

... visit Carol in hospital.
Tanika and Asoka took us to see the Dubai Fountain. It's the worlds largest (yes) choreographed fountain system, and set on the 30 acre Burj Khalifa manmade lake. The shows are on every half an hour in the evening, we had just missed the second last show so we walked through the crowds and got an ice cream. When it was time we found a good position to watch the stunning water display which was set to light and music.

... wait. Highways have off ramps that run out into the desert and end without any signage forcing the lost driver to go back down the ramp in the wrong direction and uturn back onto the freeway.

And for a good laugh nobody thought to put in a sewage system. So now the sewage from millions of toilets is managed by thousands of tanker trucks that ferry it out daily to a dumping site. Youtube "Dubai **** truck parade" to see this in action. Yup, ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Palm Tree Court Dubai

Excellent hotel but the Jasmine club is overpriced.

overall excellent hotel . Very good restaurant choices and the golf club within walking distance. We booked in the Jasmine club but that was not worth the rather big price difference with a sea front junior suite.

Really Enjoyed the Palm Tree Court!

We were looking for somewhere relaxing for a week and the Palm Tree Court was ideal. My husband & I had the best week doing nothing but lazing around. The gardens, ponds, streams were all beautiful, so many different types of birds (including the resident peacocks!!). The food in all the restuarants was superb, especially the desserts. The staff were so friendly, especially Ana Karina Roldan in the Japanese restuarant and Doulan Salim El Chami (the Lebanese Chef) he was such a lovely man! Our room was lovely and all the little extra touches, like the bottle of wine, sweets & fruit on arrival was great.

We have been in Dubai before so we didn't need to go out & about but the courtesy bus is available to take you to various places.

    Would definetly go back!!!!

    Relaxing & Luxurious

Have just returned from a very relaxing stay at the palm tree court & spa. We chose this hotel because it's far away from the building works at the jumeirah beach area and we read good reviews on trip adviser. It's a long way out of dubai & probably best suited to those just wishing to relax with a few easy side trips such as the Malls or Wild Wadi. Would love to have visited the souks but it felt too far & too hot to do so.

    Would not go back!

This was my third time in Dubai and on each previous occassion I had stayed in the Jasmine's Suite in the Palm Tree Court. However on this occassion we also stayed in the One and Only Royal Mirage and the Manidat Jumeriah which were both surperb and to which I would return time and time again. However I cannot say the same for the Jebel Ali it was most disappointing with the food not to a very high standard in comparsion to the above hotels. The room was not in the Jasmine Suites and therefore although in the Palm Tree Court I would consider most basic. The Jebel Ali is very much out on its own between Dubai City and Abu Dubi and therefore needs to step up a gear with regard to the accommodation. The Palm Tree court is sold as a 5 star hotel I would only rate if a 4. With all the new hotels in Dubai and the competation between them I thinkg you would get a better standard of hotel and service for the price they charge.

    The best Holiday ever

My husband ,2 daughters (19 and 16 years and extremely hard to please) and I, have just returned from the most fantastic holiday we have ever had!!! When booking we decided to upgrade to the palm tree from the Jebel Ali and we were not dissappointed. We had travelled overnight and arrived at 9am in the morning. Our rooms were not supposed to ready untill 2pm that day but were ready and waiting for us. The reception staff greeted us and immediately got us refreshments we were then transported by golf buggy to our rooms. The rooms were huge with biggest bed that I have ever seen. They have Elmis products in the bathroom snacks and a great mini bar all of which are replenished every day without fail. The staff are second to none and cannot do enough for you. Once you have been there a few days the majority of them even remember your name. The restaurants were all superb and the service excellent. The French restaurnt was a little pricey and A La Carte (so fairly small portions) however, it was delicious. The beach is clean at all times and getting a bed and parasol is never a problem, with a beach attendant on hand to set it up for you. There is a young man who rides around on a beach buggy for most of the day serving you with any drinks that you want. He was a phillipino who has the cutest voice and smile in the complex!!! The pools are also excellent with a well manned swim up bar available at 2 of them. Make sure you make use of the golf buggys, which take you anywhere withing the complex... very useful if you don't fancy walking! and can be called from your room.

Keiner hat die Golf Carts erwähnt...

from denen man ÜBERALL hinfahren kann!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Nobody mentioned the golf carts......

.......which take you EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't beleive after reading through loads of reviews before we went that no one mentioned the golf buggies. They literally take you everywhere and cost nothing !
