Today wasn't a good start for the group, firstly because we were losing a few members of the gang. Ross, Laura and Kim wanted to get to the beach early and had decided to make their own way through Guinea and would meet us in Sierra Leone ready for Christmas. Secondly, Nala didn’t want to start. We were all up early at 7am ready to hit the road but a problem with the air meant we were going nowhere for the next 3 hours! Chris managed to ...

          Hello my lovelies,

I do hope you are all going well.

Time for another random update! I had a wonderful time in coyah. Sadly one of our little group became unwell the day before we were to leave so ended up being just Jacki and I. Was quite the adventure rattling along for two hours packed like sardines with a bunch of Africans in the back of a van - i was real glad to be near a window, otherwise claustrophobia may have gotten the better of me! We arrived ...

Surrounded by blue sky, golden sand, sparkling sea and pretty foliage it's not really any wonder the two patches where I neglected to put sunscreen on my back turned a lovely tomato colour. Had a lovely relaxing Easter Saturday at Roome Island, despite the minor issues of forgetting my camera, freaking out that i was gonna drown in the big surf, hurting my toe on a rock and feeling cruel bartering some guy down to 15,000 Guinea Francs for a necklace he was ...

... wss standing in the middle of the stream of traffic and redirecting them so we could manage the feat!! Only in Africa! I should just put the disclaimer here, should anyone get the wrong idea, that I was definitely not the one driving. :OP. Last week I was able to visit the Hope Centre, a convalescent type place patients discharged from the ship can go if they are from away and need further checkups or treatment. Saw a ...

... and cards. I felt very loved!
The taxi ride back from the restaurant was one I'll never forget as 10 of us all jumped into one 5 seater taxi and made it back to the ship through all the potholes and not so smooth terrain. Fun times :)
Faye and Michelle made me delicious red velvet cupcakes for dessert, and then to burn off all the cake I had eaten that day we had a dance party! Was such a great day!

I have to say one of the really weird things for me that day ...
