... Route 66 stops in 2009. As the only constant thing is change, so has the MidPoint Café seen its share of changes. Ownership has changed, and while it looks pretty much the same, we hope that time marching on won’t close this little gem’s doors.

We went to the Tucker Tower Nature Center - this was a very interesting facility that had nature information (fossils, meteorites, etc.) in the first part, then lots of old photos, tools, and information about the WPA and the CCC in the actual tower. ... between two mountain ranges: the Boston Mountains, and the Ouachita Mountains. We drove by Carrie Underwood's home town, a small town not too far from the Arkansas border.

Just before we stopped for the day, we drove into Henryetta to buy a few groceries at WalMart. We drove the length of Main Street, about one mile long. The street was lined with dilapidated store fronts. If this is typical then small town Oklahoma is in trouble.
