After 8 hours on the plane (my very first long distance flight !) i arrived at Indira Gadhi International Airport in New Delhi, indias crazy capital. Finally i could stretch my tired, swallen, jet-lagged limbs and after the whole immigration procedure - which seemed to take forever - i was kinda ready to face what was lurking behind the airport's entrance gate. As i walked through the gate i soon spotted a paper with my name on it & took a deep breath... my driver.. alright let's go.. The...
New Delhi, India sista_eveGood Morning Sunshine!! My first day in the foreign world.. Alright, it was not even midday and i already found myself in the struggle with indian washroom facilities.. The second i stepped into my hotel room's bathroom i was covered in confusion.. A small bucket next to a western-style toilet, 2 taps coming out of the wall & a big bucket right below it.. "What the hell am i gonna do with that & how doe this work anyway ?" When i inspected the bathroom a huge question mark appeared ov...
New Delhi, India sista_eveAfter my first few days in Delhi i feel a bit more comfortable and not anymore that scared by such a massive, hectic & chaotic city such as Delhi.. I was ready to venture out on my own & face some of it's dangers.. So, ready for a big day out.. but i didn't come that far.. at the first main road crossing a tuk-tuk driver stopped & asked if he could get me somewhere... 'First-Timer' must have stood in big capital lettres right on my forehead.. Alright, why not.. let's go... First ...

... but as dangerous as it seems, it really isn't, somehow it just all works out, most of the time all you hear are horns, constant beeping, mostly just to warn people that they are around you. I've spent a bit of times in taxi's cars, rickshaws and bikes on Dehli roads and so far I haven't been hit or we haven't hit anyone, so it just works out, but most of the cars do have dints or scratch marks on them, so i would hate to own a new car in Delhi which is crazy cause i did see ...

Delhi, India zameensandeep... Im feeling absolutely no pain also with the help of some er hum medication!!!Im up the next morning and headed to Jaisalmer a mere 19 hour train journey which turns into 3 1/2 hours extra as Indian railways decides to do some track work. Its a non descriptive journey apart from our rodent friend who scampers back and forth over the carriage floor-he's only a small mouse/rat so I leave him to go unpunished.I reach Jaisalmer late afternoon and its a wondrous place ...
New Dehli, India lordos... We came back home for dinner, which was another wonderful homecooked meal, starting with spinach-carrot soup. Yes, I know that sounds pretty unpleasant, but it was smooth, creamy, lightly spiced and quite pleasant in the end. Rebecca was still suffering from jet lag pretty fiercly, so she wasn't able to eat much without getting sick. We decided to turn in early for the night, Rebecca went right to sleep and I stayed up a little while to blog. ... I'm excited to see what tomorrow holds...
