    ... frustrated with all the sitting in enclosed spaces. A bigger thankyou for the patience when I did lose the plot or was 'set in my ways' about what I would and wouldn't do ...and for rebelling with me on the few times we did 'leave the group' (next time we will be more brave)

    This was the day of the big hill, I'd been warned about. As it was a 70kms day as well we decided to take the train to San Bonifacio to halve the distance and rest a little. The thing about Italy which we are still learning is that it takes twice as long to get anywhere as you might think. So we missed the first train @ 10:21 ...

    ... in Vicenza. I can't think of a better city out of which to base. It is a nice sized city of about 120,000 people. There is a museum, historical site, and/or architectural wonder around every corner. On a Saturday, you'll find many people out and about doing their shopping, eating a mid-morning snack or drinking espresso. Espresso!! I'm trying to be hip. ...
