... up to call back home to the US. Our niece is expecting her first child and it was the gender reveal. So we got to listen live to find out she is having a girl!!! Yay!!! Can't wait to welcome Chandler Rose!!!

    • Another highlight of our Salzburg trip (but not as spectacular as the gender reveal) was food. I had fallen the day before (surprise! klutzy me) and hurt my arm and leg and took some medicine that made me feel like ****. I didn't even want to go to dinner. We ...

First day in Vicenza. Hard to believe I know but we had a sleep in & even lazed about in the sun in the Villa gardens - not such a bad place to be. Got slightly energetic & went for a walk in our corner of the estate - this place is pretty massive with lovely tree lined paths though the gardens. So peaceful here after the big cities.

... twenty other people in the basement. Cheap pasta and soup. No cod unfortunately. Had to set my own table, order my food direct with the cooks and tell the cashier what I had. Fun. Surroundings were attractive. Pedal operated washbasins. Covered the Duomo porto and cupola, the remaining palaces and the beautiful loggia in the Saldi park. Crossed the city to a gelateria I saw in the morning for chocolate and creme gelato. Ate it ...

... the detail on the walls and ceilings, let alone the collection of Russian religious icons.

The final event for time in Vicenza was dinner (again) at Vittoria's Pizzeria. Another great experience, with Max and Guiseppe being great hosts.

On a more sober note, the funeral of my Uncle Bill was held today. I would really like to have been able to make it.
