Ascoli's main piazza is the simply lovely Piazza del Popolo and seems like it's the living room for the whole town. It's laid with shiny travertine marble which looks wet at night and makes for great reflective photos - hence Noel going nuts with his camera . The historic Cafe Meletti has been trading since 1903, when local Ascolian Silvio Meletti decided he needed a coffee house to sell his increasingly popular Ainsetta liqueur, made ...

Today we travelled up the coast to Sirolo which is just down from Ancona and it was picturesque all the way. Tiny Italians towns on hilltops with large churches dominating the town. All along the coast is built up and it seems to be a continuous city but with lovely house colours that are set off with the blue of the ocean in the background. The litter seems to have gone mostly for now which is great to see. We are in the National Park of Conero and this area is the Riviera of ...

... couple days after that. There was a pool, fresh fruit from the garden, and of course, delicious home cooked Italian meals. It was such a fun and relaxing week and we could not be more grateful to have had this opportunity here in Italy. We have been so lucky and we're not sure why, but hoping it ...
