So after a very late night last night it was up early today to head out for a 9 1/2 hour excursion. We were headed to the spa town of Karlovy Vary- about 20 kilometers from the German border. The town was originally settled by Germans but now is heavily populated by Russians. There are 16 mineral water springs in the town, in addition to the many hotels and "sanitariums" where one can bathe in the mineral spring water. Each tap has ...

Dug trenches and fitted sheets down with bricks earlier in the baking sun. ... designer label! The whole town was spotlessly beautiful and gleamed. We were only there for two hours so we wandered the streets for a little while, had lunch, and peeked inside one of the expensive hotel lobbys. It was a nice break from the long drive. After lunch we piled back on the bus for 3 more hours to Nuremberg. Finally at 4:35 we got to walk on to our river boat. What a difference from ocean liners! We literally stepped right onto the ...

From the incredibly elegant buildings and groomed parks of Vienna last weekend to an 11th Century castle in need of major repairs this weekend. These ranges of experience has helped make this exchange more than I could have envisaged or hoped for before leaving home.

Late Friday afternoon five boys from Brazil, Belgium, India, England and NZ joined seven Czech girls from the University Buddy System for a ...
