... better. This hotel was not nice – no details given – but it’s the worst I’ve ever been to. It’s amazing though how little the environment matters when you are really so exhausted that you anyhow get a good night’s sleep in a place like this :)

So far plans all hanging together
... the edge and parking in the middle. All the way round the outside are bus company ticket offices with cafes etc above, and behind them another wide road where all the coaches wait to load up. And it has a dedicated train station. Amazing.

As we get the information that the Kackar Mountains (highest peak at about 3900m) are still pretty snowy, we decide to change our plans and go further to Georgia! Indeed we will have to come back to turkey anyway as our ferry to Russia leaves from Trabzon on the black sea.
So maybe in 1 month time we will have better chances to go hiking up the Kackars.

Around dusk, Leigh turned up after several days of seriously hauling it across Turkey. Leigh had made a marathon distance for the day, he was so eager to catch us up! And by the time Leigh arrived Charlie had mended somewhat so we ate together and, happily, this time Charlie managed to keep his dinner down! And, it being Leigh's birthday we had a modest celebration in spite of having nothing to drink.
