... again to Saint Louis for the Jazz Festival that takes place annually in May. We met up with the Zig vols and even saw the Kaolack boys for all of an hour. The music was jazztacular. We enjoyed performances by the German Youth Jazz Band, Baaba Maal, a real life African choir, the Saint Louis University Chorale and other groups such as a Senegalese kora player, accompanied by an American rock ensemble. ... with milk (tasted a bit like cereal!). After that I was dragged – literally! – by one of the neighbours outside. There, lots of the children from Caritas were… well, cross-dressed! The girls were dressed as Muslim men, complete with beard, boubou and hat! Some of the boys were wearing dresses, and all of the children were covered in white chalk. So in summary life right now is pretty good. Classes can get long and seemingly tedious sometimes but I am eating a lot better than at site, I get to play with a puppy all day and I am reunited with all my friends. It’s just like PST all over again; movie nights, happy hours at Church (the name for the bar and since Muslims don’t drink they name the bar after our place of worship) and long walks on the beach. Ok I made that last part up there is no beach.

... courses to choose and dessert. As always, everything was tasty and delicious, so congratulations to the chef and his staff!

After dinner we always take a walk inside the hotel premises and by the beach. Outside there's virtually no light at all, so that's why we don't go out very far. After that, it's time to go to bed...
