... buoys appeared to be taken.
One of the locals tried to direct us to one of the buoys but in the
end decided it was not strong / secure enough for us so we headed for
the only hammerhead.
Getting onto the hammerhead was in
itself abit of a challenge: a) it being quite shallow, b) very close
to moorings, and c) the apparent lack of cleats upon which to attach
yourself. In the end we got there. At the same time ...
We spent a few days in Gijon which was a very interesting town, with a wonderful atmosphere and great cultural activities. We just happened to be there whilst a cultural festival was going on. Each evening there was a concert by the marina, which displayed the various styles of music of the (Asturian) region.
The town itself was fairly modern, with a few hidden gems.
A most pleasant stay.
We visited the main sites like the beautiful Cathedral and the old part of town which was nice. Than we had dinner in a small restaurant where we tried some Asturian dishes like Fabada. Walked a little more and than got our car out of the parking and drove back to the camping. 28th We left for Santander but when we got near the weather was so awful that we continued to Bilbao. ... about 15 minutes and thought we had been stood up, until we saw Zak and Kory coming down the hill. I was disappointed that Luke and Miguel weren't there but Zak and Kory had become our besties. We found a place to sit and saw miguel and luke walking up. we all had wine but no wine opener so we went to the bar and the bartender lended us her corkscrew. ... around me and it was nice, but I had no intention of doing anything more. I miss Jonathan a lot and I miss being physical with someone and skyping with jonathan made me feel guilty. I'm not going to tell him about it because nothing happened and he would be ******, and I'm also going to be with Luke for the next 3 weeks so there's no point in making him feel like he can't trust me.
on another note the chocolate croissant I just had was excellent!
