We arrived in Manfedonia just as it was getting dark to a 4 room B&B over looking the harbor in the center of town. That evening the streets were decorated and packed with people to celebrate the festival of St Francis. They even broadcast mass on street speakers all over town. This morning got off to a rocky start. We took a "shortcut" which looked extremely promising on the map, however, the dirt road gradually turned into a two track and then a sand path through a swamp which was infested with most of the world's mosquitoes. Who knew mosquitoes loved Italy too? Eventually we pushed the bikes through the soft sand for about a kilometer while fighting off and ingesting the mosquitoes ...
... are some private meeting rooms and three specialty restaurants. In the very back (Aft), is the balcony of the big theater that hosts the nightly show. We like to eat breakfast on the 12th floor. It has a huge buffet with lots of delicious food. The 12th deck also has two pools, four jacuzzis and lots of music. Toni likes to eat dinner in a formal dinning room on the 6th floor. I feel increadebly spoiled. :) No shopping, cooking nor cleaning, ...

We predict that a high carb diet is the way to go and will be studying the benefits on our return to the states. Whilst the four courses, including sweet, were wonderful but petite, Signor was rather puzzled that others seemed to be enjoying a game stew (a speciality of the region).
Whose fault this was, I wouldn't like to say, whether the €39 didn't cover the game stew, who knows but Signor took umbrage and snow fell throughout the night.
