... the mountains again. Quite a show.

After lunch we pushed on to Verona where we had front row seats to watch a production of Carmen in the outdoor Roman amphitheatre. The location was fabulous and it was so nice to see the old ruin being put to such a beautiful use unlike the roman amphitheatre in Rome. We had dinner beforehand in the square opposite the amphitheatre and the weather was warm and balmy (not raining here thank goodness). The front row ...

... provides us with views from two sides of the hotel plus two balconies to sit out on and enjoy the magnificent views of Lake Como and the Bellagio Promenade.

In the afternoon we decide to go on a tour of the Villa Serbelloni Park which is now controlled by the Rockefeller Foundation of New York. Just a quiet walk through a park offering spectacular views at every corner, not to mention that it is 3 kms on a gravel path, uphill all the ...

After our exhausting day yesterday we didn't wake early, and enjoyed a beautiful breakfast. During the night there had been a thunderstorm and the day started a little damp and drizzily, unfortunately. We walked down to the ferry dock and decided to get all day mid-lake tickets which stopped at Menaggio, Bellagio,, Cadenabbia, Villa Carlotta, disembarking at Lenno. We walked ...
