... the distance but because the roads require a slow speed to manage all the twists and turns, animals and Italian drivers. As for animals, we saw horses, cows, pigs, goats and sheep....all on the roadway! Crazy!

First we went to Mass celebrated by Fr. Parker at the Shrine of Padre Pio in the chapel. There was a St. Michael the Archangel painting there. This is where Padre Pio often said Mass and heard confessions. Then we ate breakfast at our hotel and went back up the hill to tour the Padre Pio museum and shrine. ... were doing their homework at one of the tables, one of them was listening to music, the mother came in to test her son on his homework, and then they all sat down to eat. Foggia is not a tourist area, and it is nice to see everyone coming out in the evening, strolling about and chatting. We stopped and bought an icecream on the way back, and the girl gave us both two scoops of different flavours, so we are stuffed!
