Haldenstrasse 10 Lucerne, Lucerne, Switzerland, CH-6002, 41-416-1616
As we are only here for one night, we wanted to experience Lucerne This morning we took a walking tour through Lucerne... stopping to spend Swiss Franks on chocolate and strudel.
The Fall weather was perfect, as we were able to see the Swiss Alps and Mount Pilatus which abruptly tower over the Lake. In the old part of the town, we found tiny pedestrian squares, old chapels and covered bridges crossing the Reuss River. We spent a good part of the morning on the hill overlooking the old...

Aarau, Aargau, Switzerland beaandrogerI had never thought of travelling to Zurich only to take part in the Street Parade. But back in 2008 some friends wanted me to go there and I did not regret it. It is a real special parade with many friendly people in a very nice city near the Lake Zurich. The central station was also decorated and used for the party, and during night time the big station hall became one of the largest dancing clubs in the world. I can only tell people to go there and enjoy the great ambiance!
Zurich, Zürich, Switzerland adson... railway that goes up to Mt Pilatus is the steepest cog railway in the world. At some points it is travelling up hill at 48°! The view was amazing! There was someone playing an alpine horn at the top and we could hear the cows wearing their cow bells. It's just all so Swiss :)
Coming down we had smaller cable cars and had to change near this adventure park. If we had known it was there we ...

Lucerne, Lucerne, Switzerland neverold... have coffee yet, my drink was the usual cafe latte. Then I ordered the spaghetti and they had hot peppers!! I think these were the habanero peppers as the olive oil that it was sitting in was actually spicy. YUMMY!!! It's weird... you don't have to know the language to know if they're talking about you... Toby & Dominik (one of his uncle's) were chatting away happily and to some degree, I think they were talking about me at one point or another. No biggie as I was ...
Luzern, Luzern, Switzerland vivianlam... also expensive. We went into a 4 story toy store—how cool is that? However, a medium set of Polly Pockets that would be $15 at home was $42 here. Hello—love Target in the USA.

Kathryn, you would love how the town is built around the water and the mountains are huge. The ducks and swan swim in the middle of the river and then make their way to the sides where people are often eating their meals at outdoor resturants. They also ...
Luzern, Luzern, Switzerland chrisbriley... a German security guard berating (in the German language) two less-than-interested-and-a-little-tipsy travelers for--what seemed like a half-hour. We just stood patiently...waiting...listening...not comprehending... FINALLY, he let us in! And...without going into detail...we severely missed the morning check-out deadline too (by about 2 hours)! Back to Germany...racing along the Autobahn at 120 mph. A night in Konstanz along the German/Swiss border. A ...
Gimmelwald, Switzerland drpaultravel... I walked over to the Collegiate Church, which was built in 1692. As I walked up to the church, the first thing that caught my eye was the cemetery, off to the side. You normally don't think of a cemetery as being beautiful, but they certainly seem so over here. The interior of the church looks like it has not been restored in the 300 years since it was built. It has gold altars (both main and side) with a very plain ceiling ...
