... golden colored sandstone. The monumental churches and municipal buildings are simply stunning in the late afternoon light. After admiring the main buildings and piazzas we wandered away from the main center and found a little wine bar where we enjoyed a few glasses, some antipasti and conversation with a young British couple spending there last night in Sicily. So sad.

I will miss the very laid back lifestyle of the Aeolian Islands. The next destination is Catania, Sicily. Its a ferry ride from Lipari to Milazzo. Bus from Milazzo to Messina, then another bus to Catania.
The road from Messina to Catania hugs the coast, very nice and green but it seems you spend a lot of time in tunnels.
