The other problem is that once you have walked through you are forced to disturb all of the others coming through by walking briskly back through the canyon to your designated ride back into town. Bottom line is; wonderful place with tons of potential, but way too crowded. I would search out a slot that was less striking if it meant it was less crowded.

Always good to find compatriots and chat about upcoming roads. Loved Bryce and rode to St George via 89 South so I could see Zion again. That's a great place too. Wish I could have explored all the parks in southern UT, but have to leave something for the cross-country trip with the whole family! Still no photo upload ability, but it's gotta happen soon?
Page, Arizona, United States vulcanrider... of us had known before we walked through sand onto which we had assumed someone had dumped their water bottle. Yuck. The Slot Canyon itself it rather narrow and beautiful. The guides do a wonderful job of showing you exactly where to stand to get the best shot. The major key was to turn off the camera's flash so the true colors of the canyon could come out ...

This landscape is so familiar from movies and ads, the scenes, but driving between the mittens is so much more impressive and more beautiful. We drive the route and stop at places to enjoy the views and have our photographs taken. At one of these stops we get companionship of ...
Page, Arizona, United States franseningeWe arrived in the Grand Canyon in time to see a sunset, and to check out a group of astronomers who were gathered at the canyon to let the public check out all the stars and planets. We'd been through some interesting canyon-like landscapes on our way from Mesa Verde, but - of course - nothing compares to the size and grandeur of the Grand Canyon. We ...

Many years ago while vacating in Sedona AZ, I saw some amazing pictures in a photographer store. Found out they were taken at a place called Page AZ. Never knew anything about it before. At the time it was not a short trip to get to and always wanted to go there ...

Whilst waiting for Lyn we made an unanimous decision that we would go back to the hotel, have a cool shower and crash out on the beds. Luckily Lyn agreed, and that's just what we did. Cue the kids watching Home Alone 2 on TV, and Lyn and I sleeping for 2 hours! When we woke up, we hit the hotel pool, which we had all to ourselves, the showered again, and went out for food. We had a little look at the Glen ...

Day 312 Wednesday 07/09/05 Grand Canyon - Moab Another long drive of 6 hours which took us into state nuber 4 - Utah. More scrub, more sand, more of the same. On the way we drove through Monument Valley which is basically a crater shaped valley that has some really nice rock formations sticking up. Not as big nor as many as we had ...
