... the incessant tooting of horns which was only matched by the frequency of the shrills from the police whistle; and from what we could gather the whistling appeared to be for no apparent reason.

Our driver had a great knowledge of his own country and shared with us many facts and anecdotes regarding Balinese life. Oh and by the way, Julie was affectionately known to him as "Mrs. Peter".
