... which wouldn't have looked out of place in downtown Brooklyn for a drink and respite from the sun. Eventually, we found our way to the bus stop for Koh Yor, the small island in the middle of Thale Sap reached by bridge. We were invited to take up two spaces in a Sõrng-tãa-ou and had a very windy ride through the streets of Songkhla to Koh Yor, amused at the way fellow male passengers stood on the platform at the back of the Sõrng-tãa-ou even ...

... sure what we are eating...but probably don't want to know to be honest!

Temple Massage- A backstreet temple which doubles as a massage parlour/massage school. Both had an hour massage for 2pounds (can have up to a 3 hour session for that price!). The massage itself was interesting, fully clothed full body kinda pressure related massage...using their hands, elbows, knees, and even walking on you! Not sure if she took my grimacing in pain as a compliment but it was pretty painful ...

... Lumpur" which was met by an even angrier reply of "STAY IN VAN!!!" and the door slammed in our faces! We set off again, this time stopping in Trang's bus station to get a van to Hat Yai.. so we jumped off and off drove our driver without an expaination of what we should do! A random man at a desk asked us over, clearly noticing we looked lost! We told him we had a ticket to Kuala Lumpur.. showing him our reciept he pointed us to another minivan.. ...

... sack. We are also stopped twice by Thai police roadblocks where an officer comes on board and checks everyone's ID, except for us obvious whiteys and Mr Dreddy. At the second stop a German shepard is sent sniffing about in the hold of the coach - looking for drugs, bombs or more likely, Burmese stowaways who have crossed over the slightly porous border at Ranong.

This makes for a rather dystopian beginning to the journey, made all the more edgy by the fact ...

... in the world that we have seen and its all so too well trodden - which has many effects. Our first visit, was actually pretty cool, we enjoyed that a lot, going north from Bangkok on the north eastern line, making stops heading towards Laos - we saw Thailand as it is, daily life not revolving around tourism, it was great. Second time around we came back from Cambodia , we ended up getting stuck in Bangkok for nearly ten days, which wasn't awful, but maybe ...
