... hunting crocodiles (ok, so, there are crocs in CR...good to know) but it started raining so he stopped in to talk to Elena (the owner of the place, who is currently in the US) Anyhow, put all this together and we figured he was either fleeing from something in the US or a part of the witness protection program. He also promised to come back by with some moonshine. Yep, it is Friday the 13th.

Quepos, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica smiley_kab... a blue butterfly, the famous ones of Costa Rica. Blue is a rare colour in nature. We bumped into some people who asked Sean if he was French.. He must spend way too much time with me! In the national park there were also a few small coves with lovely beaches. The water was pretty warm and there were loads of little crabs and other crustaceans walking and hiding in the sand. We relaxed a bit there and read.

After that, we walked a bit more ...
Ora novelle trentasettenni abbracciamo l ...

Quepos, Costa Rica sarahs_travels... for a beer so we walked back down to the bar on the beach to stop for an Imperial on ice. After finishing our beer we went looking for a place for lunch. We stopped at the Colonial, a place that sounded ok in the guide book but found the prices were really high and there wasn't much lunch selection. Got up from there and headed to the Posiedon Hotel restaurant, another of the guide's recommendations. Jaco doesn't seem to have a wealth of great eating places ...
Quepos, Costa Rica suspence... the beach. It was Keli's FAVORITE thing in the world, and even Dave who doesn't normally like riding, LOVED IT. What a trip feeling the horses going so fast down the beautiful beach. After horseback riding, we finished the day off with a refreshing dip in the ocean at sunset. Now writing all our wonderful family and friends at an Internet Cafe! More soon!
Quepos, Costa Rica davekeli... to be the size of a small child by the camotion. . . i have not found my gratitude for them yet. On a sidenote: the internet here is dial up. Which makes me regret how i took forgranted of the highspeed internet at home. And also means that it takes a good 10 to 15 min per picture. But i am trying to keep them coming. Again i am reminded of how patience is a virtue. Hasta Luego! Danie
Quepos, Costa Rica danie83... t stop all night. Nevertheless, once we were settled in, we took our umbrellas and set about exploring our surroundings. In all my research on Costa Rica, the consensus is that San Jose is the ugliest city in the country and pales in comparison with the natural beauty of the rest of the country. In our short hours here in the capital city, we must concur. As we walked under a highway ramp and half-finished ...
San Jose, Costa Rica semi-backpacker... the natives look like foreigners to me, or they don't look like what I would expect to see in Central America, in other words, there's a lot of white people here. Karla Enríquez met me at the Ticabus terminal and I stayed at her house 3 nights. I went to church with her on Sunday Aug. 12 at Calle Blancos. It was the biggest church that I've seen in Central America. There are about 70 members. And they have 4 ...
