We came to a bit of dilemma. I have a friend that lives in Phuket (near the gibbon rehabilitation centre, where she worked at for 6 months)and can welcome us anytime but preferably from the 5th onwards because she is on holidays then. On Thursday morning we were to go to a Muslim school called Fai Tha. Having got on well with my colleagues the previous afternoon, and confident that they would this morning show up on time, I was feeling a little less anxious about the day.

... good an opportunity to miss. As soon as I walked in Pak came from behind the bar to greet me with concerned questions about the whereabouts of Keith He and the rest of the staff were so nice to me that I had to stay for a couple of beers.

So it was close to midnight when I eventually got back to my room, very weary, jetlagged, a little drunk and somewhat emotional. But I was here and tomorrow would be my first day in one of my favourite places in all the world.

Today was our final day at home and life. The whole group were eager to finish the jobs asked of us by Root, not just for Root but for all the children as well. Once we arrived at home and life we started the day with a group photo of all the children, volunteers and leeds met volunteers
