Ok so as I arrived in Phuket quite late the previous evening and when it had gone dark I really didn't know where the hell I had ended up apart from Tourist city in a less fumigated but more humid Bangkok. After saying goodbye to Kristina at Phi Phi Pier, we loaded onto an air conditioned boat, and were over in Phuket in one hour and a half. I slept on the deck in the searing sun, while Jon watched a movie about secret agent gerbils.

We arrived in Kho Phi Phi on morning of Sat 26th and rented an almost beach front bungalow. This island was devastated (along with Phuket) by the Asian tsunami in 2004 and so the first thing we saw was the tsunami evacuation signs (200m this way). Around 230,000 people died in the Asian tsunami which struck on Boxing day 2004.
