... to be the high season but very few people here and I am sure that thos who beeked with a tour will have paid a lot. My room is on the 4th floor and over looks the pool and the palms. the pool is like a river that meanders round the grounds and has bars scattered here and there. If you want massage you only have to ask.
the beach is a short walk away and is clean. I walked down ...
... food thai's engage in masocistic rituals of stabbing large objects through their cheeks... we missed that part sadly. We were the only 2 people in the entire city not wearing white.. rather embarrassing tourist move. The food was delish and everyone was really kind. Spicy papaya salad almost took us out it was SO spicy!
We then came to Patong beach, the more popular area, but the beach is not as nice. We found an Aussie hotel ...
... roads. We stayed in cute bamboo huts and spent two days doing absolutely nothing by the pool. Loverly break after all this taxing tiger cuddling etc. In the evenings there was a beach party and we watched men spinning fire, did fire limbo, fire skipping, ran through circle of fire... Bumped into someone I knew from home. I also accidently exploaded a sewer pipe in town. In the morning I accidently exploaded our shower and tried to sleep through ...
Phuket, Thailand nballingallHeadin’ South on the overnight bus. Was sitting next to a frightfully nice English chap, newly qualified doctor, had been doing some voluntary business on the Burmese border. Talking to him reminded me of talking to Mabbs, the same marvellous old school accent and stupendously pleasant demeanour. Good way to kill a few hours, until the aircon froze our brains to the point of malfunction and we lost the ability to communicate. I speak not in jest, it was so cold I could literally ...
Ban Ko, Krabi, Thailand lnb203... about this trick of fortune. If you go into the temple and truly believe your fortune you do a little ritual. You grab a cup full of sticks all with numbers on them. You shake the cup slowly moving it to face downwards. You shake until only one stick falls out of the cup. You then take this thing that looks like a peanut cut in half. If the peanut halves both land facing up or facing down it's not your number and you have to reshake the cup to have a new number ...
Phuket, Thailand hurleychick86... more island life and so made arrangements by expensive speed boat to go to Racha Yai Island situated about an hour south of Phuket. According to the leaflets its well know for its daily snorkelling trips. And when we went to get the boat over there my goodness it was too. There were upwards of 10 speed boats (with up to 25 passengers on each) leaving Phuket everyday to make the snorkelling trip. Our only consolation was that these boats would all be returning by 3pm each day. Which left ...

phi phi, Thailand jennyreid... We also paid a visit to the gorgeous Hat Phra Nang beach and the Tham Phra Nang (Princess Cave) on the southern end of the beach, where people come to pray to have babies and bribe the gods with wooden penises and other objects. Surrounded by high limestone cliffs, Railay is one of the world top destinations for rock climbing, so we were also thinking the ultimate question in Railay - to climb or not to climb - and due to a really bad weather and Eva's fear of hights, we ...
Railay, Thailand aguas... up the hill because damnit its really hot and I didn't want to chafe. Milli says: Ok, I've had more than 40 minutes sleep and I'm coherent. Hurrah say you all. SAY IT... The Thai Airways office was closed when we first got there, and we waited around going crazy trying to figure out what we were going to do. Our flight said we could check in but then when we tried they smiled and said sorry, no. We got to chat to Thai Airways later on and they ...
Ao nang, Thailand shanemilli... into view. This one was more curious, moving past us three times. On the third pass, the shark swished past within arm's reach. An amazing feeling. We finished the dive with a swim through a cave. Lurking at the entrance were two enormous groupers, which I pointed out to Erin. At the end of the dive it turned out that she hadn't seen them. She missed the two largest fish we saw during our dive. We took our surface ...
