... more of these giant Redwoods. Some of theses trees are close to 1000 years old. The parkway links back up to Highway 101 where we made our way to Eureka where we spent two nights.

... the children were asked to introduce themselves and their grandparent(s). There were 20 children and 21 grandparents. Introductions were fairly brief, and the children did a good job. We realized that there was one girl, Hazel, and her grandmother, who had been on our Road Scholar program last year in Dunsmuir CA; it was nice to see them again. ... Museum which was close to the plaza. There was an exhibition on there called "Camellia has fallen: Contemporary Korean artists reflect on the Jeju uprising". It was an interesting presentation using all sorts of media - painting, fabric, sculpture, video installations really sobering thoughts on an incident of which I knew nothing - a massacre of anywhere from 25-65,000 people in 1948.
