... without outside contact, except for when we drove into town. This meant we could not research what to do in the area or even check the weather, which was quite different between the Santa Barbara coast and the mountain valley we were camped in. We took advantage of this lack of connectivity to do less and so we spent a couple of days doing nothing but reading and relaxing by the pool. Being in the middle of nowhere had its advantages. Race and Early Thanksgiving

A travel blog entry by christinakrawec on Nov 16, 2014

... we finished, we were all dead. Instead, we headed back to the house and pretty much just sat and ate the whole day. ... Last month, I watched a special on TV about the seven most beautiful places in the world, and Santa Barbara is ranked the 5th most beautiful place to live, and it is the only U.S. city on the list. That’s where I’m going to settle.”

“Oh Liz, may I ride with you?” Mooch begs. “My boyfriend lives in northern California, in Monterey, and I ...

    First night of camping

A travel blog entry by garyandanna on Sep 13, 2013

... after an uncomfortable and chilly night it quickly becomes clear that we need to pop to a camping goods store to upgrade some of our kit. (I discover to my excitement that fleecy sleeping bag liners are an option!)

The following day we drive along the breath taking piece of wiggly costal road leading us towards LA stopping off to take in amazing cliff top views including a waterfall pouring out of the rock directly into the ...
