Loving the inbuilt griddle on the oven in this house (also the 12 cup Mr Coffee coffee maker which you can time to wake you up in the morning!) Headed off to the aquarium and avoided queues round the block by strolling in through the members' entrance thanks to the passes supplied with the house. ... like during the peak season. Anyways - tasty! Big Sur Bakery also serves food, sells bread etc and seems to be a good place to have dinner. Next to the Bakery there used to be a smaller gallery as well, but it seems to have closed down unfortunately - not sure if it is temporary or permanent.

... So, later on Thursday, we drove 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach to Carmel where we walked and had dinner at Il Fornaio … yes, an Italian restaurant, and another recommendation from Jay, our niece and her husband’s son’s friend’s dad! (Like that one, Vincent?) The server took a picture of the three of us at the end of the meal, so all you will see is the three of us and a brown to-go box.
