... day. It was really nice to see. Even walking down the wharf you could feel the atmosphere. It was great to be part I that feeling. We had done some research to find out where the parade and a few concerts were being held in the town. But, nothing was coming up about fireworks. The closest thing to is was Monterey Park, just a six hour drive down to LA. After finding nothing we asked a waitress who told us it's now illegal to have fireworks in the town due to people's houses ...

... at our destination at approx 5pm. Went for an explore which took us down to Old Fishermans Wharf, an area of olde worlde tourist shops and seafood restaurants. After much deliberation and a quick consult with trip advisor we agreed on Old Fishermans Grotto! - Good choice! Ryan had a seafood dish "Cioppino" which came with some nut crackers...... Last drink at the hotel which by the way, we would recommend. The Vdara is great: customer service attentive (we had a clogged shower drain, and they were up and fixing it), nice suite room with frig, 2 burner stove, microwave, 2 large flat screens, sofa, etc., and spacious bathroom. DOWNSIDE: no casino and no real restaurant. Close to sister hotel, Aria, where there is a casino and restaurants.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium was founded in 1984 and is located on the site of a former sardine cannery on Cannery Row of the Pacific Ocean shoreline in Monterey, California. Offshore from Monterey and Big Sur beaches is lots of kelp (seaweed) that floats on the surface but goes a long way down too. In the Aquarium is a huge water tank that shows such a kelp forest.
