Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Cafe Pacific Brussels

Felt like coming home while on business trip in Brussels

        from

I am in Brussels quite often for my work. I stayed recently 4 nights in one month time in Pacific Cafe Hotel. I was just fed up with big chain hotels and just wanted to give my business trips more style. Searched on internet and found this cute hotel. I had marvelous time. The location of the hotel is great. Great shopping, lots of good restaurants in the neigbourhood. I had a standard room which has no street views but instead nice view into church tower. A big plus of having no street views was that there was no noise even if the windows were opened. The bed is indeed comfortable. Nice bed sheets and towels too. Very nice designed room, glass shower room.

The people working at the hotel are very friendly and attentive.

There is no breakst buffet which i liked. You get fresh juice, coffee, croisants, jam, some bread..it was all enough to start the day.

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel and coming back to Brussel last month was a pleasure ( even though business trips are not always fun). Definately will stay again in this hotel as soon as I need to overnight in Brussels again.

        from

        from

        from

        Absolutely LOVED this hotel.

        from

I was looking for a comfortable place to stay while on business travel that was close to the major attractions downtown. I searched the internet and this trendy boutique hotel caught my eye. I called the hotel directly and luckily they had a room available. This was one of the best decisions i've made regarding hotel stays. The hotel was beautiful. It was small enough to maintain privacy, the hotel cafe had excellent food and a great staff, and the location to downtown attractions was perfect. I could not have been happier with my stay. I will choose this hotel every time I travel to Brussels.

        Quest'albergo mi è PIACIUTO tantissimo

        from

An elegant modern gem in the heart of historic Brussels

        from

06/10/07 - Arriving on Rue Antoine Dansaert we were immediately set into the mindset for this exquisite boutique hotel. The street has some of the best shops and restaurants in the area, and is a quiet, thoroughly elegant "Rue" within a short walk of nearly every point of interest in the historic area. Definitely not your typical hotel, the staff is open, warm and very at ease with all travelers. The ambience is serene and inviting. Both the hotel cafe and our room were designed in a very cosmopolitan modern hand, but not at all austere. Rather, the smart and restrained choices of luxurious bedding, bath fittings, and media allow for the guest to breath in this lovely space. Floor to ceiling windows and balcony doors drew the street in by day, and provided a beautiful moonlit backdrop at night. This really is a very different experience, more akin to having a fabulous flat in another city, than staying in a "hotel". A note though about the duplex; it is entered into directly through the bath, a steep side stair ascends to the small bed area upstairs which I don't believe to be enough for 2 traveling with luggage. However, we were immediately accommodated and transferred to a stunning room facing the street (it is pictured in on the hotel site with blue lit bathroom, although the bath was white lit during our stay). Truly a delight, we look forward to returning soon.

        from

Get there before everybody finds out!

        from

I stayed for two days in this hotel. I would recommend it to everybody (except families with little children because of the steep stairs and glass doors) because it is a wonderful alternative for the standard business hotels. It has very cool design rooms (I stayed in a deluxe room) with immaculate white walls and a nice personal touch in every room. The hotel owner was very friendly and they are obviously willing to go the extra mile after they have redesigned and reopened the hotel a few months ago. Excellent location.

In the Historium we were guided to 7 different cellar like rooms showing different themes & times of the boy's life & his love for a woman (later his wife), who was bought by the famous Van Gogh for a painting he intended to do for the royal kingdom. The life of Joseph ...

... But the excitement wasn't quite over yet, as we walked into a parade of giant inflatable characters. The Main Street is blocked off on Sunday's for families to come and enjoy numerous games laid out for them; giant chess, table tennis and badminton, jumping castles and boche. Along with street entertainers, bars and restaurants, the place was buzzing, so why not have a parade as well. The characters, mostly cartoon characters like Tin Tin, Superman and ...

I taught him how to play guitar hero and met a few of his friends. We then decided to go to ...

... in its own right, but the main draw is the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, or Gent Altarpiece, by the Van Eyck brothers. This work of art was completed in 1432 and has quite the history. It was moved several times, returned to Gent, moved again, stolen by the Nazis for Hitler's grand art museum and recovered in the nick of time by the Americans and finally returned to Gent where it remains today. I saw the movie The Monuments Men and since then ...

... stop on at the Tintin boutique, we stopped at a restaurant with a very laid back vibe called "Fin du Siecle". We sipped on a Leffe Brun and a Peach beer while dining on some delicious grilled shrimp brochettes on basmati and grilled gambas (big shrimp) with a baked potato. The meal tasted just like home-cooking. Fantastique! Tonight was an early to bed night as we are heading home tomorrow! One more blog to ...
