A hot, sunny midday finds us at Baoshan Port terminal at our allotted time, to board the Celebrity Millennium, for our cruise across to Vancouver. Unsure of the procedure, we joined the first long line, in the sun, to drop of our cases. Chatting to people in the queue we find out we are only allowed to take two bottles of wine on with us (we had heard drinks were not cheap on board, so had bought 4 bottles in Shanghai). So we put two bottles in hand luggage and ...

Busan - the second largest city in Korea is southeast of Seoul. It took less than 3 hours on the high speed train to get there. I was hoping to see some countryside of Korea but a large portion of this journey was through tunnels. I didn't realize Korea was quite so mountainous. Friday was spent doing a bit of shopping, packing and housework - yes even during travelling we've found time to do housework...haha!  Today we fly to Beijing, for an amazing 3-week tour of China! We absolutely can't wait! Fran will be taking the first blog there. But for now we just want to say a big THANK YOU to Halmoani for letting us stay at her apartment on Jeju-Do, it was hugely generous of you! Well, "Anyonghikeseyo Korea!" (Bye Korea!) ...

... and more home than hostel. I needed my rest – the next day I would be heading out to hike Hallasan, a full day venture which I would need to catch the first bus out of Bomok-dong for.

It was an early start to the day for my hike to Hallasan. Not knowing what would be available on the trail, I had bought supplies the night before – peanuts, some chocolate bars, jello packs, and a giant bottle of Pocari Sweat (an isotonic workout drink that ...
