After days at sea we had a short stop in Malaga before docking the next day back in Savona. I have decided that I am not crazy about the days at sea. Even though I really enjoyed all the ports, I don't think I would do anther big curise. The fact that there were only small number of people who spoke enlgish on the ship was interesting. So wanted to speak another language .. any lanaugage. Even when I told the Germans I did nto speak Germann they kept talking!
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands pathenger... winning again, 900 euro to be exact) or playing golf. Perfect!
One of our day´s we drove to Gibraltar, which is only about 1.5 hours drive away, but actually a part of England(?). I absolutely loved it, not because of the English-ness (Marks and Sparks, etc) but because of the MONKEYS!! I LOVE MONKEYS!! We drove up the side of the "rock" and visited a cave (pretty cool, but nowhere near as good as the ones down south ...
... ham, and beef. She said it was very traditional and that you mix it all up and dip your bread on it. It was so good. It reminded me of Thanksgiving. Then tonight the ISA group had a dinner at a restaurant (they rented it out) it was so good. Wine, salad, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, gravy, cranberry type sauce, and some kind of meat. We later found out that the meat was turkey with stuffing. It was really good. I can't remember ...
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands skivail89... of almost 200 of his works
A couple of days ago I was talking with a friend of mine who is from England but is living in Malaga now. He told me that one time in a restaurant the waiter asked how the meal was and he told the waiter that it wasn't that good. He told me that normally the British will just sit there with an unhappy look on their face and never say anything. He got the meal for free. Today I met two really cool people from Seville, Alejandro (Alex) and ...
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands skivail89... ill but it was cheap and filled us up.
We went to a place called Montys bar where they had a live act on we thought it was going to be really cheesy but it turned out to be ok. Steve the man who was playing was really good and played lots of old classics man rock songs so Ian liked it and I enjoyed it to. We then stagered back to our room around midnight a little drunk again. Looks like we are fitting right in with this holiday.
... the ferry over to Algeciras it only took an hour and half and then we where in spain, I felt a huge weight lift as now we can relax a little. In morroco you are always on edge always watching and not trusting people that it makes you a little crazy. So we went and got our bus tickets and we waited in a little bus station cafe and had our first taste of Spanish food. Ian had some paella and I had some meatballs ...
Torremolinos, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands traceybelle... terry and i fleweasy jet to malaga which is one of europes many budget airlines; we were within a couple kilos of our allowed baggage weight allotment so we arrived with our funds intact. the weather has been wonderful here except for one morning when we woke up to gale force winds but they soon died down by the afternoon. our friend carla arrived on wednesday after her long trek from san francisco to malaga via d.c., munich and rome. we've taken nice little walks along ...
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands cruiseone2003... stopped talking to them. They still tried to ask me questions, and I shut them out. The woman Joe and I met earlier at the Irish pub was really nice. She and her husband had lived in Spain and owned that pub for a long time. There teenage son also works there and he was very pleasant to talk to. They even offered Joe a bartending job there! They were both really nice and helpful adn provided us with useful info when it comes to owning a bar. Other bits about Torrie (as the tourists call ...
Torremolinos, Spain evafordham... the beach, most times I am supposed to go with them! So a typical scene each day is me walking out the door in my bathing suit, sarong and sunglasses, while the two housekeepers (hk's for short) in their uniforms are vacuuming, ironing or cooking. Extremely weird! So the other day the two hk's were out somewhere, and in the house were me, the kids, the mom, some friends and their mom. Usually when there are guests over some snacks ...
