... it was the bus driver saying that I would need to sign for this morning's bus - sounded reasonable so I agreed, collected my stuff and headed downstairs. When I got there Ross asked if I had caught up with the breakfast guy because I had not signed for breakfast.... whoops! The man had apparently headed up to my room for me to sign. Eventually, we caught up and I signed their docket. Still took an extraordinary amount of time.

Mosquitoes, Manti and Muay Thai
... beach time before Cambodia, they informed us that a local guy had said it would be bad weather for at least a week, not the sunshine we had hoped for.
We were restricted to our little beach area on the first night due to the rain. Rather than sit in our room we headed down to the bar at Naga Bungalows armed with our books. From Bangkok's Chinatown to Ko Samet
... taferelen zorgde. Tenslotte nog enkele beschouwingen over het Thais engels: de Thai kunnen vele woorden niet correct uitspreken. Zo horen ze bijvoorbeeld geen verschil tussen de r en de l. In Khao Yai wees onze gids op een bepaalde 'prant' hetgeen dus een plant was. Ook meerdere medeklinkers achtereen vormen een probleem. Zo werd muesli op een bepaald moment door een serveuse als 'museli' uitgesproken, hetgeen door Meri onmiddellijk gecorrigeerd werd ...
Lola and Milly come too!
... until 4.30 am) Then, when Ben came home at 8 am, he also went in to tell Jamie the taxi driver was waiting in the lobby downstairs... so Jamie didn't get much sleep.
By 9.30 we're all ready but no sign of Darren. Jamie calls and calls but after 45mins the decision is taken to go without him and Kellyn.
The taxi man is a cheerful chap and not at all bothered that he'd now been waiting for 3 1/2 hours.

Learning Thai at the bar
... we spent some time dancing at another bar, B took DK back to his room as he had reached his limit for the evening. There was one priceless moment later in the night where I had wandered away from a conversation for a quick toilet break only to then be, as one would say in England, c*ckblocked! (see picture)
I spent the next couple of days either lazing on the Hat Sai Kaeo beach reading a book and swimming in the ocean ...
