PS a very scary night. We were all awoken by a howling creature and we were so scared until it went away!! So after a disturbed night we woke to clear skies, very cold air and a clear sky. We sunbathed by the sea and had a special treat of endive with our bread cheese and tomato. And then back in the saddle ...

Up ahead we saw black skies ahead pouring ...

There were huge oyster beds and mussel farms near the edge of the water and we were able to walk right up to examine them, very interesting to see how they grow the famous Arcachon oysters and the moules that fill our pots!

Wandered in the lovely port town of ...

After a quiet night on the campsite we enjoyed hot showers and a quick breakfast before setting off along the sea front - another varied seashore of sandy beaches with surfers and swimmers, sand dunes, rocky islands and busy port of Sable d'Olonne. The highlight was a stop at a restaurant for a 3 course meal, languatines, sea bass and rum baba - yum yum. A couple of days to La Rochelle ...
