... wine bottle and then we thought they were off on the trail, but no they got in the car and drove on!
At the end of the gorge we joined the road towards Cannes, which was route Napoleon, orginially created by him as a pass through the mountains...very windy. Our destination for the evening was Grasse where we found a good park overlooking the city lights and our first view of the Med.

Sainte Maxime, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France lahildenbrand... Alfa appear to be wagons bringing home the wine and sausage. In France, Peugeot, Citroen and mostly Renault are the ones delivering the bread.

Another interesting car trend was present throughout the journey. That would be the brand of choice for police cars, taxis and buses. Predictably, the police cars are manufactured by the companies that reside in that particular country. So, in Germany police ...
Cannes, Provence, France travelingmoores... with nearly 1700 miles on it, all senses were immediately over-indulged! The French are a unique bunch: they are beautiful, well done-up and looking good. The women wear stiletto heels to walk their pocket-size pups and the guys look chic and wear their sunglasses inside...let's just say they're also very, um,,,, Confident. Nevertheless, still fun to look at and we're up to a new challenge of learning another language.

To add to it all, there's a convention in ...

Saint-Tropez, France, Catalonia, France katstravel... other side of the port of Nice and there is a Greek house. it was built in the late 1800's but the architect was an expert on Greek history and made the house a replica of a house in Greece in the 2nd century B.C. Really cool stuff. Right down to the murals on the wall of Greek mythology. Lots of pictures taken. They're still on my camera right now, but I will try to post them. When we got home there was dinner. Lasagna with ...
Nice, France deuxmelissas... great! Cooled things off. Went back to hotel - hung out in the garden with some of the other guests and went to the beach after for some drinks. Great atmosphere - lots of people sitting around. I left at 1:30 AM but many did not leave until past 5:00. I am too old for this group! For most hostel groups for that matter!
Nice, France pwong... on perfect, sunny, hot, but not to the point of discomfort. Add to that the spectacular azure coastline and the rugged, ochre rockscape, and you've got a very pleasant environment to be marooned in. Had a slight panic when the keys failed to work on the house, but it transpires that I am a dope who can't operate something as foolproof as that. Family friends currently on holiday in the house, with the result that the fridge is fully loaded. Having not eaten since for over ...
