Not entirely shure, if I spend my last day in a foreign country, I head towards north. A stopover at Novi Ligure provides me finally the opportunity to send a notification to all family and friends about my remaining itinerary before return back home. The date has been fixed to the 29.
The ride up to Vercelly in the low lands was not that exciting like the sighting of the mountain of Mont Blanc in the far. Since my ...
... a glimpse of a massive glacier on our way to the mountain and later got a great view from a peak further down the ridge. I saw a glacier this summer in Montana's Glacier Nat'l Park but I have to say that despite the parks breathtaking views, its glaciers were hardly impressive compared to Chamonix. This was a legit, man eating, climber scaling, cavernous abyss kind of glacier. We were able to take a gondola that ascended the peak parallel to the glacier some 12,000 feet. After nearly ...
Chamonix, Rhône-Alpes, France ehuard... places that were dead I decided to
head to the Sports Bistro and have a beer and see how my appetite
was. The bar was like the local Cheers bar as many groups of friends
were hanging out. One thing I have noticed in Chamonix, there are
many dogs, and perhaps more Golden Retrievers than I have seen in one
location in Europe. It is also not unusual to see the dogs with
their owners in bars and restaurants and the Sports Bistro was no
exception. When I entered ...

I got up to a cloudy day and
headed to the town center to go to the Tourist Information (TI)
office to pick up some maps for my travels in the area. The wind was
howling and the TI rep told me that all the lifts were closed due to
the winds, so no travels up the mountain today. I picked up the
maps, headed to the town center to pick up a sandwich and then
headed back to ...
... channels on the radio. The car has a digital radio and the station doesnt have a fixed frequency, it just flicks itself over the best channel that it can be recieved in the car (but not physically changing, only the number changes without you knowing!).
Dan has a new favourite drink over here.. Schwip Schwapp..its an orange coke mix..the next fav is Mezzo Mix, which is a different brand of orange coke mix..the Schwip Schwapp is a pepsi product that you can get from Aldi..and its ...
... for Jon... he said he was so nervous he forgot how to speak French. Anyway, the next day we wanted to go mountain biking but by the time we checked out, all the shops were closed from 12-3 and we couldn’t rent anything anywhere. I think everyone closes up shop and goes out to play... sweet jobs.

... town of Seez. We must have taken some wrong turning around here, because the GPS went a bit mad. So we found a place to turn round (not easy on those roads) and went back until we could agree with the direction the GPS wanted to take.
We'd sent a text to Tom to say we'd arrive about 2 p.m, and could he arrange for some food to be left for us from the barbeque which had been arranged. He confirmed, and said he'd come down for us at that time.
... there have been some spills. Thankfully snow is soft. It is exhilarating after a long day inside. The xmas season was quite busy around the chalet as well. We moved into the staff dorm for a couple of weeks as they got a pretty penny for our private room. We managed to get some interesting stories while there however. One night I woke up about 3am to find a Scottish guy climbing on the shelves in the room. I approached him as he was crawling under a table. He was ...
