After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!<br>

... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!

... wine bottle and then we thought they were off on the trail, but no they got in the car and drove on! <br> At the end of the gorge we joined the road towards Cannes, which was route Napoleon, orginially created by him as a pass through the mountains...very windy. Our destination for the evening was Grasse where we found a good park overlooking the city lights and our first view of the Med.

Cannes is not as glamrous as we thought it would be, it still has all the fancy smancy stores along the beach, but there were definitely no red carpets rolled out when we were there. We did a day trip to St-Tropez, its was the end of a hge sailing competitiona and tons of ...

... experience at Sababini's was very personable! The eight course meal was superb! We both chose the steak and lobster, otherwise referred to as surf and turf! The service was fantastic! Sabatini's provided a more intimate and personable experience! We were glad we arrived with an apetite. Otherwise, the eight courses would've been too much. The champagne carried us through dinner until the cappuccino's. <br ...

... to get out too! Tony came to our rescue though offering a hand to each of us. I would definitely say that for me the 50km or so over/through/around the Grand Canyon du Verdon is somewhere near the limit of what I can do on a fully loaded bike. We were afforded a brief break from stunning scenery during which we took time out to have some lunch and a lie down on the shade. We have no idea what the end result was, needless to say someone was going to be in a bit of trouble for sure. ... museum and the instruments were unusual and beautiful, including a small piano-like think with the soundboard vertical against the keyboard so the whole thing was about a foot deep and six feet high, a violin with a small brass horn coming out the neck and "violin de pochette" pocket violins about ten inches long. We had a nice dinner on Place Saleya at the Safari Cafe. Mixed grill local fish and baked red peppers...and of course vin blanc and cappoccino!
