... came down near us but we were lucky and just got debris on us. But enough whining about the weather.
Avignon is extremely beautiful and we have a lovely view at night of all the castle etc all lit up as we are camped on a sort of island in the Rhone. We arrived yesterday and explored the town and went to the Popes palace which is the best preserved castle of its age in France. We then ...
... since Susan and Brett last visited, but at €18.00 each, plus wine and wonderful coffee, it is extraordinary value.
Alison sat outside with one of the waiters while I paid the bill, and explained that we were from Nouvelle Zelande. The waiter replied that there had been two people from New Zealand having lunch the day before and several the previous week. So the word must have got around. Next time we might have to reserve.

... room exhibitions on fabric printing in the Provence style, a furniture collection and portraits from a locally prominent family and some paintings. The first floor was given to a temporary exhibition of photos of famous people and artists, sponsored by Paris Match magazine. We enjoyed it, but were not sure why Sharon Stone was included.
The guide books recommend seeing the Arch du Triomphe in Orange. It is very large and ornately ...
Believe me you don't want the story but here are a few photos and videos of what was a wonderful adventure for the most part.
The bull running was a random and free event - just next to lovely beach. Camargue horses are breathtakingly beautiful in the wild.
Unfortunately no photos of characterful and cultural city of Arles because only took the camera out one day - the day we went to The Camargue obviously.
... wanted to clambor up to the top but (surprise surprise) it is not open to the public (well, actually, you can go about 20 feet on to the top with a guide for extra €s) Anyway, we walked under, around, and through the giantic structure and climbed onto the cliff adjacent to it for a better view. Having exhausted our enthusiasm for the aquaduct, we left Pont-du-Gard for the city of Arles. We checked in to our B&B and went exploring. The Roman Coliseum was ...
Arles, Provence, France dancer_alisonJuly 25th, 2007 Today was the big day! I got my hair cut. I woke up early to get my hair cut at L'Atilier. It was the same place Meredith got her hair cut a couple weeks ago. The store was supposed to open at 9:00am but as things are much more relaxed in France, they opened the doors at about 9:15am. I was able to talk with a French woman that was waiting as well. She was impressed with my French. That was a really good feeling ...
Arles, France lparrinSo here it is. The list that everyone has been asking for... The answer to "What do you miss the most from home besides your family and friends?" 1-Hugs. Even though people give kisses here to say hello and goodbye, it's not the same. I really miss hugs, alot. 2- Mexican food. Yea, it's been great tasting ...
Arles, France lparrin... lunch time but it's what they do here. Small breakfast, large lunch, small dinner. After lunch I had free time so I spent some time at the IES center on the internet. I could go back to my apartment but it's not air conditioned so I would much rather spend the time at center with everyone else. I figured out that Skype doesn't work right now so that's just another thing to worry about. After we went shopping a ...
Arles, France lparrin... de Gaulle airport in Paris and deplaned outside. I looked around for the Eiffel Tower but the airport is on the far outskirts of the city. I still had an hour and a half before my TGV (fast train) left the train terminal at the airport. Good thing I had time because the woman that pointed me in the direction of the train station said it was a short walk but with my 500lbs of luggage that "short" walk seemed ...
