... ask, "Are we there yet?" Enough to drive you nuts, right? Roy finally came up with the idea to split the trip up like a pizza pie. He'd say, "We've still got half a pizza to go or only one slice now!". Somehow that seemed to give her perspective and she wouldn't ask so often. On one trip, Alle and her little friend Kaylin laughed continually the entire way home, which was about 3 1/2 hours! Oh, to ...

We basically spent Tuesday getting settled into our "home away home". As I mentioned, this cabin is really awesome compared to the others we've rented up on the rim. The downstairs living room has a bar, pool table, air hockey, Wii with big screen TV and a Deer Hunter video game machine. Overall, I have to say this place is so much nicer than any other cabin we've stayed in up in this area. I'll score it a 8.5 out of 10 mainly because it's built into the side of a big hill and there's no flat ground for the kids to play outside.

Glad we all made it up the mountain safe and sound.

... band in the 1950s. Pop singer Demi Lovato was born here. And, R&B singer Bo Diddley spent many of his later years living in Albuquerque. Click here to watch him sing "Who Do You Love?" None of those artists has a place on my Harley music collections, so I bypass Albuquerque, turn west onto I-40, and head for Grants, about 75 miles to the west. I-40 here is actually part of the old Route 66, which I talked about on Day 1 of this ride, two ...

Much cooler today, in the mid 80's and overcast
It only sprinkled when I was filling up the car.
Salt River Canyon is spectacular but requires driver concentration. I am glad it was a short day.
Tomorrow, I am aiming for Cortez, CO. for the weekend
      Today's lunch was forgetable ...
